How to Proceed

I am wondering if anybody is familiar with this kind of situation:

I had my symptoms start Late November/December 2015, mainly migrating joint pain and fatigue, some air hunger and other nuisance symptoms.

Starting in January I started doing a few things to self treat (a lot of them a result of advice from this forum):

Epsom Salt Baths - Almost every night
Lemon Water
light exercise
Lymph Massage (on myself)
Kombucha
Eliminating a lot of gluten from my diet (But I am not 100% gluten free)
Green Smoothies

Supplements:
Omega 3's
Vitamin C
Selenium
Joint and Bone Supplement with Vitamin D3
Vitamin B12
Probitoics

I have noticed that most days I feel pretty good, I would say I am back up to 85% but somedays 95%. I still do have fatigue and joint pain but nowhere near what it was before.

My LLND just prescribed a 30 day course of Amoxicillin. I haven't filled the prescription yet, because now I feel like maybe there is nothing wrong with me, and would it be reckless to take antibiotics if you are not very ill. I just don't know what to do. I haven't done the IgeneX test because the LLND wanted to do the test after my round of antibiotics because he said it would give a more accurate result.

Do any of you still treat or go ahead with treatment even if you are feeling better? I just don't know what to do. I know I am not 100%, and I don't want this to come back with a vengeance. But at the same time I feel weird about taking medicine when I feel mostly good. If this would have been back when I was experiencing my first horrible symptoms I wouldn't have thought twice about it, because I was in so much pain.

Traveler has good advice. I would add some of Buhner's core protocol herbs into your self treatment before going on antibiotics. Cat's Claw and Japanese Knotweed are really important. Maybe this is all you need to kill off the infection.

Thank you Traveler kbuzz and girlie. I've been looking into Bunhers protocol. Where do you recommend purchasing the protocols? He lists different websites for everything. Is there one where you buy it all at once? I'm looking to buy the protocols for lyme and babesia. I think I'm going to order his book too "healing lyme".

If you want to do capsules - you can order from Green Dragon Botanicals.
I started with capsules...and then switched over to the tinctures. I swallow too many pills/capsules a day...and I find the tincture better/easier to do.
I put all of the tinctures in a small amount of water...and down the hatch.

I get my tinctures from Woodland Essence. You can get them all there..along with support herbs, too.

i have also ordered some tinctures from Sage Woman Herbs when Woodland Essence was out of stock.

It would be good for you to purchase some support herbs, as well. I buy Hawthorne (for the heart/circulatory system), Kudzu and Greater Celandine (nervous system) My dominant infection appears to be bartonella...and baronella likes to mess with the heart, small vessels and nervous system.

When you do get them...we can help you get started on them...You will want to start with one herb...low dose.

Also, if you can purchase Buhner's book - that would help - his core protocol has changed since the last update on the website. He doesn't update the website anymore.
I did use the protocol on the website - as when I was doing the lyme herbs - the book wasn't out.

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH. I was all set to order Misty Meadows Chronic Tonic but they don't ship to Canada. Blast this Country we may as well live in Igloo's up here because we can never get anything GOOD sent up here. Hahahaha SIGH.

Let's just say you choose to use Buhner's protocol for right now. You need to decide if you wish to use capsules or tinctures. From there we can help you find anything you are having difficulty finding. But without knowing if you prefer capsules or tinctures, we can't direct to you where to get them with the least amount of hassles.

Should you ever wish to do the Chronic Tonic, I did it on my own. I bought the individual herbs and then made an medicinal tea. Or you can have someone in the US buy it for you and ship it to Canada for you!!

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I've been having a pretty lymie day today and a short fuse. My Fiance has been getting some lyme symptoms now, that are like mine. Joint pain. So I may have passed it to him. Which I feel awful about.

I found a all in one capsule on green dragon botanicals. The LB tonic protocol.

I might go with that because I think it might be easier at first. But I will check out the other sources you guys sent too. I think I might get my fiance started on the protocol too soon if his symptoms continue. I think he would find capsules easier, but we will see.

evian - the problem with the LB Tonic protocol - is because it has all the core herbs in one capsule, you won't be able to start one herb at a time.
It's important to start with one herb at low dose....wait a few days - if okay, increase it a bit.
If okay on the increase...then start the next herb...again at low dose...wait a few days...if okay, increase a little......then go to the third herb.
So, we get all three herbs going at low dose.

When we have all the core herbs in at a low dose...we go back to the first one and increase a little again.

At any time if we have a herx...we can go back down to the previous dose...and hold for awhile...until the herx stops...before trying to increase again.

Does that make sense?

I am currently doing the Green Dragon all in one Core protocol. I started by buying their Jap Knotweed capsule and ramping up fairly quickly. I had no issues. I then added in Cat's Claw capsule and again got up to full dose. I then switched over to the all in one.

It definitely is a lot less overwhelming this way. Once I got comfortable with the all in one capsule I felt ok with adding in some other stuff that I felt may help. The capsules are very convenient. I wish they would update the herb mix to match Buhner's new recommendations. I may shoot them an email and see if they have plans to do this.

If you prefer capsules, you can order the JK, Cat's Claw, Eleutheros individually in capsules...
