Insurance Case Manager

I am not sure how to handle a situation presented to me and hoping to gather some sage advice here. My insurance company, BCBS has sent me a letter offering a Case Manager for me. I am actually surprised that they have not contacted me before this because of all of the Doctors I have seen as well as tests and meds, even though they do not see the costs of the LLND and her protocols.

Has anyone had experience with this? Will they try to not cover further testing or Abx if I disclose my Lyme diagnosis? I have been diagnosed both by an LLND as well as an LLMD. But these are clinical diagnoses. I am not CDC positive.

My wife is a breast cancer survivor. When she was first diagnosed she had a case manager and they were very helpful; but as we all know Lyme is not accepted as cancer is.

I would appreciate any thoughts.

Same here... I had BCBS of RI. They must send the form letter to all customers (or all who have hi-frequency of claims). I too just ignored it.

But RI has a law that states that anyone diagnosed with Lyme and under Dr care, their claims cannot be denied within policy terms and coverage for as long as Dr requires the treatment or labs. Other states and other insurers work within CDC and ISDA treatment guidelines and try to cut you off as soon as they can get away with it.
