ceftin for lyme....

After taking a break from antibiotics(azith and bactrim)) for a month to let my body catch up from die off...my doctor put me on Ceftin. Anybody have success? Main issues is brain fog, anxiety, light sensitivity..eye floaters, headaches fatigue.

Right now I'm pulsing Ceftin 2wks on and 2wks off since beginning of March. Some folks do better with the newer 3rd generation Omnicef. Ceftin is claimed to be what helped Dr B and Joan Wientraub beat BB.

I also take Cipro, Plaqenil, Nystatin, Cat's Claw, J Knotweed, and CSA blend daily; plus the usual supplements and a good probiotic.

Getting back to 85 to 90% again after relapse last May.

From what I could tell it was Bart that came back strongest, since the most tell tale sign for me was a return of spontaneous bruising and redish-brown rash marks just under the skin along with the long list of overlapping Bart/Lyme neuro sx. But you can never tell with Lyme persistors so we are covering all bases.

Without checking my notes, off the top of my head - my symptoms left are:

- some foot pain in the mornings
- minor joint pain - knees (almost nil), elbows, wrists
- right shoulder pain
- left shoulder blade (but not top of shoulder), upper back, left arm, hand - nerve pain
- some leftover weakness - left upper side of body
- some leftover range of motion issues - left upper side of body (from frozen shoulder)
- a wee bit of anxiety/sweats - during day and night
- nervous system issues - shivers and vibrations
- temperature dysregulation - usually colder than I should be
- mild pots - when standing up my pulse goes up to between 90 and 100 ppm; bending over my head feels funny
- pulsatile tinnitus (about 80% better)

*** with the nerve pain, and weakness on upper left side of body, arm/hand - not sure how much is active infection...or damage that just needs to heal.

If I could 'lose' the nervous system shivers and vibrations, along with the nerve pain, I'd be pretty happy camper.

Lately my herxes are not as severe as they used to be...I guess that means the bacterial load isn't as high as it once was.

POTS is Autonomic Nervous System dysfunction - I guess the lyme is affecting the part of the brain that causes pots - which is the hypothalamus.
I do know I have lyme in my CNS.

When you say sick...you mean nauseated? wanting to throw up?

I have only had that feeling a few times since I've had lyme.

My herxes were pretty bad when I first started treating.
My daily flares also were bad...and they happened even prior to treatment.

I used to cry every single day....for months...and months. I felt so horrible. Sometimes I would wake up crying....What a way to start the day!


I only cry a couple times a week now...so I've improved...
