Hi Collagelymie...welcome to the forum!
I Ive had some bad nausea throughout my treatment. Literally just ughhhhhh right :-/...I know the feeling. Its even so hard to eat when your nauseous too. The two reasons I seemed to have pinpoint that I personally get nausea when I do get it are #1-because of toxic overload(aka from herxing and the die-off being more than my body can handle with overloaded toxins. #2-being from letting my self get too worked-up and stressed. With the stress related nausea, I had this in my notes:
""Nausea comes from release of epinephrine commonly known as "adrenaline". This disrupts the acids, enzymes and functions of the stomach & intestines, which leads to nausea related symptoms.""
Its like sometimes I'll let my thoughts get the best of me because of this illness and start to think "omgosh Im never gonna get better" type thoughts and then among other life stressors that may be happening at that time, I end up letting my stress spiral out of control and making myself sicker because of my adrenals already being taxed from lyme. It will send me into what I guess is like an adrenal crisis-like mode from using up so much cortisol that I already dont have. I am normally such a positive & outgoing person but I think many here can relate that this crap gets the best of us at times and messes with our heads. If you think you are over stressing, then you HAVE to try and turn it off and NOT let yourself get very stressed. If I feel myself getting negative thoughts, I basically try to re-direct it all by keeping busy or being easy with myself and doing relaxing things. If I dont, and let myself get very stressed...then here comes the nausea (and it will literally last for days).
Hopefully your not a worry-wort like me and its not even the stress thats causing it(but in case it is, I just wanted to explain where Ive been with that)...the other thing is, for me, that it has been from toxic over-load. If this is the case for you then a WONDERFUL remedy for me that has relieved that nausea so MANY times has been Activated Charcoal. Activated charcoal worked for me when NO prescript
ion anti-nausea med would work. Seriously...I was amazed.
I just did a quick google(nausea lyme activated charcoal) and here is actually the exact website I read some years ago that made me a believer and go to CVS to get the activated charcoal that day!
truthaboutlymedisease.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=286It is a binder to 'everything', so you have to space it out from any supplements, meds, etc. and also taking it away from eating (the link above explains some and the bottle will explain this on the label).
I dont know what your nausea is stemming from or if even from the two possibilities that I mentioned, but I just wanted to give you my experience in case if in any way it could help you because I know how unpleasant that nausea can be.
I really hope you feel better soon hun!
~Hang in there~
