Hi ArtAngel,
First of all, welcome to our community! I'm so glad you found us.
Although you as definitely not new to this, but I would still encourage you to read through our "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread, as it could have information that you haven't seen yet.
I have a liver/gall bladder cleanse that uses orange or grapefruit juice, lemon juice, garlic, ginger and olive oil. I'd be happy to list the amounts and how to use it in the morning, if you would like to see it.
I also can't use milk thistle to protect my liver, so I use turmeric, and am actually thinking of adding in dandelion root, based on the things I've been reading about it on trusted sites. Turmeric helps to protect the liver as well helps it to regenerate it, i believe. Sorry, it's late for me. I can look it up and revise that statement, if needed.
The other thing that helped me is, during treatments for my first set of tick-borne infections (I've been reinfected, and am back in treatment), I was lucky to have an amazing acupuncture doctor, who was incredibly good with not only her needle placement, but her intuition as well, and she could help my liver quite a few times. She moved out of state to care for her parents, and boy do I miss her!
Anyway, all of that to say acupuncture by a really good, highly intuitive acupuncture doctor might also be able to help your liver release the toxins and lower inflammation for you as well.
