What infection is causing my new symptoms?!

Hi all,

I'm reaching out b/c I have been feeling horrible the past week. The worst I've felt in years.

I started Buhner about 3 weeks ago (Bart) I ramped up slowly. It seemed to help with the Bart symptoms.

Now, I have this crushing pain in my fingers and feet. Very arthritic pain that I've never felt before. It feels like constant cramping almost. Oh, and my forearm muscles feel like it's "pulling" or cramping when I use my hand too much. Painful.

I'm confused confused

Basically, is this Lyme coming up? Or dieoff from Bart?

What do you think? Any thoughts are welcome!

Hi, I am not sure which of these bacteria cause your symptoms, but I suggest to you a lot of detox, it will certainly help you. I hope you will feel better soon.

Thanks BBM, I should have said I am doing my regular detox routine.

I guess I should emphasize the hand aspect. It's really terrible pain on all my fingers. Has Anyone had this finger pain???

I've had a few instances of what I call "stinging pain" in my hands or fingers.

I'm treating for Lyme, Babs and Bart and have no idea which infection causes it although I'm inclined to think Bart.

No matter what you're doing for detoxing, you need to do more now to tame your herx. Otherwise, I suggest you lower your herbs dose. Herxing delays healing.

Thanks CD. I've had the stinging feeling before, but this feels like a constant cramp, crushing feeling. It's terrible.

That's the thing. I'm wondering if it's a herx. Die off. Or it made way for something else to come up?

I think you're right though. I feel like I am going to assume (great) that it is die off and I need to step up detoxing.

I'll add in DE tomorrow. 2 servings. Let's see what happens next....

If increased detox doesn't help a little, you'll have your answer.

Sorry you've got this going on now, Leilex!

I'm voting it's a bartonella herx...since you recently started the Bart herbs.

I had terrible finger pain...but I think it was joint pain...they were stiff, too.
I would wake up in the middle of the night with my hands clenched...and hurting badly.
I would pry my fingers apart.
They would hurt during the day, but not as bad.

It has decreased A LOT over time with the bart antibiotics.

Good feedback already. I just wanted to share that I've been treating mostly lyme (dominant) for the past couple of years and started treating bart more seriously a month ago. Of course, this stirs the hornet's nest - for me, the finger/hand pain - feels like it is both bone pain and muscle tightening/hardening type of pain. It's TOUGH because it makes it hard to do anything with your hands. Foot pain is classic sx for bart.

I also struggle with large muscle pain and sometimes joint pain. The muscle pain does feel like pulling or carrying around gym weights all day or the aftermath of running a marathon. It's exhaustion.

For these - I usually have success with addressing inflammation - japanese knotweed, wobenzyme, and Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) are good for this. And detox, detox, detox.

Totally agree about ramping up your detox and if that doesn't help, slowing down the tx. You gotta give your body a chance to adjust and to detox the stuff you're killing as fast as you're killing it.

G-That sounds awful. I'm so sorry you were feeling that. I should chill out then bc it hasn't gotten to that point. I'm glad you aren't experiencing that anymore.

P-That's pretty much the feeling I'm getting. A pain with a tightening feeling. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone and you think it's Bart.

This stinks. BUT, I will step up my detoxing. I just made a list of 11 methods I need to put in place. TODAY!

Just wanted to let you know that I too get muscle pain in both forearms (and even my upper arms). You're not alone pal.

Yes, herxing stinks...big time.

Glad you'll be upping your detoxing. Please only start one new method every few days. Reason being: certain detoxing methods mobilize toxins. Until you get those toxins o-u-t- out, they can wreak havoc in your body. In fact, if you're not doing so already, I suggest that your first new detoxing method be a binder.
