Ok, so my LLMD diagnosed me with Lyme with bands IGM 41++ & 66+, and IGG 31, 39 IND & 41++.

He also feels I may have Candida Albicans? However, none of the labs here in NY will test me. The tests says "this assay is not available to NY patients"???

I don't understand why. Anyway, I have frequent loose stools, IBS, and extreme sialorrhea. Anyone else from NY deal with this? And if so, were you able to get tested anywhere? Or outside of NY?

Are you going to mainstream labs like LabCorp or Quest?

I suspect you'd need to have testing done by a specialty lab and I know NY forum members have been able to get Candida testing.

My post gets you a bump in the hopes that other members might be able to help.

Labcorp and Quest are the two mainstream labs here, and they both told me that they could not draw myvbloid for the Candida assay due to me being a NY resident? There are also many tests that even Igenex will not perform if you are a NY resident.

This is exasperating. Instead of blood test - why don't you have your MD or ND do a stool test (neither blood nor stool test is entirely accurate for yeast/fungus unfortunately but I think the stool test is better than a blood test).

If no one will test you for yeast/fungus (WTH?????)....
Then what I would do if I were you beeps is contact Doctor's Data (stool tests) company and ask them if you can buy a test, send in samples and get it processed w/out an MD's order. Don't mention you're in NY. If they ask, maybe you can skirt the issue somehow.

The tests are not inexpensive--I'd guess $200-300.

OR, you could do what I've done before and just order antifungals and test them out (there is a reputable British pharmacy that I've used that doesn't require Rx)... email me if you'd like more info.

Sorry they are giving you a run-around!

hi, where in NY are you located?

I had a P/T test for Candida done in NYC at a center (can't mention the name on here) - if you live near or in the city, email me and I will send you the info. Otherwise, a P/N test is a skin test - just like an allergy test, they inject you with strains of Candida. I tested an 8/10 and reacted with a huge hive the following day. Some allergists may actually do this test - so if you know of an allergist, I would research that route. Also, as Pirouette said, there is a stool sample test as well. PM me if you need more specific info - I would be glad to help. I am curious of who your LLMD is too!!

Chapelle: I'm in WNY (Chautauqua County). My allergist only tested me for areo-allergins, which I had numerous positives. Then I started having BP issues, so now I'm on beta-blockers. The allergists said he cannot test for more allergies while I'm on the beta-blockers as they interfere with testing. And I will send you an email with my LLMDs name.
