I drove to Binghamton, NY yesterday. I was looking forward to attending the "Lyme Disease Conference 2016". I got there nice and early, so I could get a good seat..pen and paper in hand (ready to take a bunch of notes) and book in bag (for Horowitz to sign).

The place was unusually quiet, considering.

Turns out I was 24 hours early.

I keep saying my lyme brain is better...but then something like you just posted happens to me.

My most problems are with the calendar...if it's not right in front of me...and my husband starts talking about this day or that day...I get all in a dither...I need to SEE it in front of me.

He works Wed - Sat. and I can't figure any plans out without the calendar...it's crazy!

It is soooo frustrating! Somewhere between signing up for the conference, arranging for the air bnb, and putting in on my calender, I messed up the dates.

I KNEW there were two conferences in NYS on two consecutive Saturdays, but somehow I screwed it up.

UGH! It is crazy.

Oh noooo!! I'm so sorry!! So now what's the plan? Are you able to stick around for the conference anyway?

No, I came home. I always feel as if I'm behind and can't catch up with things... Couldn't waste a day hanging around when I have things to do.

I realize from listening to some lectures on Lyme and reading more about it that I've been experiencing a constant low-level anxiety for months (years?) My daughter commented one day that I was just running around in circles. I know I'm often unfocused and unable to stay on task...and it takes much longer to do things than it used to. Lyme is forcing me to take a good hard look at all of it. I do believe I'm going to take a sabbatical from life for a couple of months and see how things look on the other side...

Kathie, that is what I did. I opted out of life for a few weeks. I slept when I was tired, ate when I wanted and just babied myself. It felt sooo good and the best part was that I announced it to my family and they left me alone in peace. It was so nice to heal during those days.

I must confess that I have made the mistake you made but I did not have lyme...... Now that was really embarrassing and now it is really funny too.

It is funny, but I'm sure it wasn't at the time!

My daughter says I blame everything on Lyme.

I heard one of the LLMD's say that it affects us where we're weakest...if I used to have headaches, now they're worse. If I used to have skin problems, now I'm blotchy all over. If used to be forgetful, now I'm totally absent-minded.

I think it's true with me.

I totally believe this about our weakest spots. My knees and my lymph nodes behind my ears. The brain fog lasted awhile but gosh it was so strange to have almost like an out of body experience. It was like a dumb person had invaded me and they could not think or converse. But I knew what I wanted to say. Frustrating as all get out.
