Anyone else feel third person like?

Its hard to describe.Its like i feel like im completely third person its super weird.

Oh yes - that particularly strange and unsettling symptom is pretty common amongst lyme & co. Its horrible - we often refer to it as "depersonalization" but it's really much worse for me sometimes. I have a hard time recognizing myself sometimes (and others), my entire personality is gone, I have a hard time accessing memories from my past and sometimes lack an emotional connection to things and people I do remember. It literally feels like my body has been hijacked, which, in many ways it has.

I am that exactly.I knew about the depersonalizatin/derealization but i didnt know it was all this.At times i feel like im dreaming.But when i look in the mirror i dont feel like its me.I also look at family members(my godmother,My grandmother,my brother and my fiance) and sometimes its like they dont even seem like they are who they are...Thank you very much atleast i know im not alone and can sleep a tad bit better.

I experienced depersonalization, at thr very beginning. That went away and stayed away. Occasional head fog still pops up sometimes.

I think depersonalization is basically an extreme form of head fog. Things look and feel like a dream but you know it's not.

It scared me. I thought I was going bonkers. When I came here and read of others, it was quite comforting. I hated not knowing who I was. I was so lost.

I was so glad when it went away and how it went away was just as strange as when it came. It came slow, like a thief and left the same way.

All of a sudden I thought, "I'm back!" But, I could not recollect when it happened.

Yeah, I feel like I have no personality at all. I am envious when people actually have a personality. I also feel (for lack of a better word) dumb and uncertain when I do talk. I started noticing this a few years ago. Another thing I noticed is that the only people who really even know me is my immediate family. I fake it so well and just stay really neutral to everyone else. I've always had a bit of social anxiety but it has gotten a lot worse in the last 5 years. Most people find it hard to believe because I don't "look" like I should have these problems.

When people would talk to me, it didn't feel like "real" life. And the harder I try to snap out of it and concentrate the worse it would get.

Stress definitely makes it worse. It normally happened at work (and those daag on flourscent lights didn't help). When people ask me what it is like, the best way I could describe it is when you are watching a movie and there's a flash back scene. And in that flashback scene the camera's filter is different. It's this hazy, glossy camera filter. Well real life would look like that.

But then when I came home (away from work stress) it would dissipate greatly.

I had that very strongly during the first week of my current 'relapse'. It totally weirded me out.

Yes, I have it, too. I call it outer body experience. For me it's one of the worst feelings. I can't recognize familiar things, people, events and it comes with being uncoordinated. Always accompanied by stress and fatigue.
