Hi Nate(?)
I'm glad you posted -
Ceftriaxone IV won't do much for bart.
Also - I just met with my neurologist, who confirmed that most neurological symptoms/pain are caused by inflammation, which agitates the nerves. So, try zeroing in on anti-inflammatory protocols to see if that provides you relief.
I'm currently taking for inflammation:
japanese knotweed
omega 3
wobenzyme plus
and superior detoxing is also quite helpful to relieve inflammation.
Bart is a crazy beast. I am just beginning to dig into my bart journey but will share what I know:
I started my treatment by healing GI, supporting immune system, tackling a yeast/fungal overgrowth and lowering my viral load. This took MONTHS. Glad I did - don't think I'd still be here right now had I started lyme & co treatment before getting to a better stage of health to start with.
I started on Byron White herbs - AL-Complex (lyme), A-Bart and A-babs. I had no luck w/ AL-complex and tried a few other herbal antimicrobials and got nowhere while my ability to walk was quickly fading. LLMD put me on IV Rocephin (ceftriaxone), which helped tremendously with the joint pain. Many other sx remained but knocking them out one by one.
Byron White's A-Babs gave me a lot of good herxing at first but I soon realized I was trying to treat too much, too fast. I'm no longer on it.
Byron White's A-Bart also gave me some good herxes in the beginning (diarrhea, leg spasms, shin pain, bone pain, lesions on shins/knee/lower back/abdomen). But the biggest problem I had, which took me quite a while to figure out is that it was causing these horrible GI attacks (hours of wrenching, pulsating pain throughout my entire torso that would end in projectile vomiting).
I finally had to stop taking the A-bart and now on Vancomycin IV for bart. I had IMMEDIATE relief of my entire torso (it's like it has been in a vise for years). And slow improvement of bone pain and muscle spasms, aches. I had trouble with my port a couple days last week and went w/out 5 doses of the vanco, and all hell broke loose - I suffered tremendous psycho-neuro, insomnia, muscle spasms herxing. It was horrible and scary and I quickly upped my brain detox and luckily got back on the vanco.
Eventually, I want to transition back onto A-Bart--for me, I think it hits the bart more broadly but body couldn't handle any A-bart in the beginning and it can't handle too much right now. I think the vanco is helping me at a good pace right now.Hopefully someday I can "graduate".
Hope this is helpful -
