LLMD's still do prescribe Doxy with Rifampin and Rifabutin...so I guess the benefits outweigh the chance of doxy concentration lowering.
LLMD MR says you can pair Rifampin with Mino, Azithromycin, doxy, biaxin. He goes on to state that it can lower both doxy and biaxin levels...but it's still in his protocol list.
Also - the Bartonella guru - Dr. M. - pairs Rifampin with biaxin...
Have you treated lyme already? I'm thinking if you don't have active lyme...then maybe it's not so much of a concern?
So, I wouldn't be too concerned. It's probably not 'significantly' reduced.
Re: Rifampin vs Rifabutin - I put Rifabutin in the drug interaction checker and it did say that. (not just rifampin)
