Hay all,
I'm looking at going to an LLMD near by, hoping to get some answers. When I mentioned I'm worried it's Lymes they said they would need to run some tests (obviously) my question is should I just go a head and get a on Igenex test done, or wait until I see the doctor? I have yet to set up an appointment ( have to figure out finances for it first....)
Should I wait or just go ahead with the test? I was planning on asking the doctor as well.
Also does any one have any increase in symptoms when it's hot? I was doing pretty well with all of my worst symptoms not really bothering me, but with the weather getting warmer it seems there coming back. :/

Getting the test yourself first or waiting for the doc is up to you. How anxious are you? How long until your appointment?
As for the symptoms, gosh weather, the moon, stress, emotional things all can trigger our symptoms. And then sometimes it is just the way lyme is -- great at being a pest!
Good luck with the doc and I sure hope he recommends an Igenex test and not from a local lab....

I'm not sure how long since I haven't set it up yet.
I'm not sure how anxious I am, haha. I've had so many disappointments already, if it's positive I'm anxious to know, if it's another dead end, not so much 🙃

I wanted the test done a.s.a.p....and took my results with me to the first appointment.
At the appointment, I was prescribed antibiotics, so treatment wasn't delayed. He wouldn't have prescribed abx until the test results were back.
But, I was anxious...lol
But, on the other hand, some LLMD's want additional testing besides the Lyme WB...some do get the co-infections tested...so in that sense you may be doing additional testing...which could turn out to be more expensive than if you had waited and done it once.

If I could go back in time, I would have used the time leading up to my appointment (about
5 months from booking to first consult) to start a herbal protocol.
That way by the time the doctor wants to prescribe antibiotics, I would have had my immune system functioning properly, and inflammation under control.
Of course, Lyme wasn't really a diagnosis I expected, so I spent the time doing other things. Take the opportunity to get yourself ahead.

I went ahead and did mine on my own. I will have it to take with me to the LLMD. It can take awhile to get in so you could call and always cancel if you can't do it. I called in March and can't get in till August.
In the meantime I started on Buhner's core protocol and added in a few herbs for different symptoms. It is definitely making a difference!

I scheduled my llmd appt and on my first visit he gave me antibiotics Ceftin and Biaxin. He also did the blood test right then too. 3 weeks later he said I had lyme, but that it was not a CDC positive. At least he started me on antibiotics.

Thanks for the input, my symptoms hadn't been so bad so I was hesitant to spend the money, how ever over the last week I've gotten back to not being able to walk with out a cane :/ might go ahead and get it done now. Hopefully we can figure come thing out!

So I have decided to do the test before I see the LLMD. I'm ordering through IGENEX. I feel a little silly asking all these question, but do I have to get it signed by my regular doctor? And what tests should I have done?

The lab req needs to be signed by a Dr. any Dr. So, your regular Dr., or a ND, or chiropractor...
The one test you should get done is the Lyme WB IgM and IgG - costs $210 for both.
I personally wouldn't pay for the Elisa or IFA.
