Can Tindamax be taken with Plaquenil? Drugs.com says no?

Does anyone know if its safe to take Tinidazole at the same as Plaquenil? I looked on the drugs.com interaction checker and it says there is a risk of nerve damage if taken together? True or not true? thanks!

Sorry, I can't answer that so I'm bumping the thread for more views. I would tend to pay attention to the drug warnings, though.

Hopefully others can provide more input!

floridadude - I have been using the checker you used.

But I did a google search and put Tini and Plaq in for this checker:

no interactions came up.


And no interactions using this one:

I tend to err on the side of caution.

My LLMD once said that Plaquenil has minimal interactions with other lyme/bart/babs meds.

Please have your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist every couple months while you're on plaquenil, with or without tindamax.

Mustard Seed - Did you read the eyes need to be checked every couple months?

I haven't read that...I thought it was every year or so.
I think a test should be done in the beginning to establish a baseline.

I had the Visual Fields testing done last year - even though I'm not on Plaquenil.

Long term use of Planequil is when you need to get your eyes checked. My LLMD said at one year though if you want to be careful do a bit sooner.

Ya I just threw every few months out there. Pretty sure my llmd said every 6 months. I honestly can't remember. I'd be uncomfortable being on it an entire year before getting checked.

I take plaquenil Mon-Fri and then Tindamax on Sat + Sun. I was told they cannot be combined.
