Name my Rash...

I get these spontaneous rash marks periodically, mostly on my forearms. They take a week or so to fad away. They are definitely from blood pooling close to the surface, and last summer I had two occurrences where they broke skin and bled for a bit.

I use to think they were related to Babs and dying red blood cell. But now I think they are from Bart messing around in my capillaries.

Thanks Girlie, So it didn't display the 6 photos? I just click the link and it all looked fine, then timed out to one of there promotional pages.

Can someone else try to get to view the photos?

Now I don't want to be rude but older people get those things that are called red age spots. Instead of being brown age spots or liver spots, they are red from clusters of dilated capillaries.

Age spots... never thought to consider that, and be careful.... I resemble that remark.

Then why would they come an go randomly and in sync with strong ABX treatment. I've sometime gone over six months without any spots, then sometimes they appear on a weekly basis. I also get spontaneous bruising so I included a picture of one from last month.

tickbite - those do not look like age spots to me...I'm thinking they're from an infection - babs?


One of them looks like a bruise.

A lot of your pictures look like they could be a Purpura rash. Purpura has different names depending on the size. Smaller Purpura are called Petechiae. The larger ones that look similar to yours are called Ecchymoses. As you said, this is a pooling of blood, which creates a rash. It is not an underlying cause.

I believe my Purpura are caused by Bart. I used to think my Petechiae was Babs. Rifampin has helped my Petechiae, but has causes more Ecchymoses. It sounds like it could be Bart for you too.

I'm not sure about a few of the rashes. If you do a Google image search for Purpura, you will see similar photos.
