Oh God, when I first got into it, I didn't realize the extent to which I'd be digging into my bank account, simply buying tinctures.
In the beginning, 1 drop, 2 drops, up to 30 drops a day, that's alright. But, when you start getting into half teaspoons worth of doses multiple times daily (never got that high myself, just going off what Buhner recommends for some herbs), the cost of a month's supply can start looking pretty mean.
Then, you start adding in various tinctures for coinfections, support tinctures, etc.
Right before my gut/sensitivity problems worsened, and I started having trouble with the alcohol in tinctures, I spent upwards of $600 on a bunch of tinctures. That hurt, of course, but was worsened by the fact that I couldn't even use the things. I ended up selling the ones I hadn't opened on eBay at a fraction of what I paid, but still cut me deep.
But, yeah, not to complain, just saying.. consider making your own, unless you got wads of cash to afford the simplicity.
Bulk herbs into teas or capsules is good too. The argument is that tinctures are stronger, but.. some of us have got our various reasons for not using them.
Oh, and to answer your question, 1st Chinese Herbs is a great source for your herbs. Them, and Mountain Rose Herbs (cheaper on a few herbs, can't remember which, but they do not carry some of the herbs that are specific to TBI). I love Mountain Rose's essential oils as well, just FYI. lol
