This was a symptom I had and it went away when I started abx tx. However, recently it's back. I am still on abx and have been for about
2 months. I wonder if this is herx or a re-occurring symptoms. Any thoughts?

shanna I used to get muscles that felt like someone hit me hard in the arm. It was so freaky and weird. Then the next day it would be gone and it felt like someone hit me in the thigh. Treatment and it all went away, but while I was in treatment I got the strangest symptoms. All varied, all over and different all the time. Lyme is so schizophrenic.

It can be both. Was muscle soreness one of your main symptoms? Sometimes these are resurrected with treatment. Are you detoxing sufficiently? What are you doing for detox?

I am doing lots to detox and have been this entire time. I agree that treatment has been crazy and unpredictable. I guess I always panic when something like this happens because it is re-traumatizing to experience a symptom I was hoping was gone.

Hi Shanna j !-
I am so sorry to hear that your muscle soreness came back.
Are you treating Bartonella?
Sometimes I get it where it feels like someone took a baseball bat and beat every muscle in my body.
Maybe try ice, heating pad, or light massage. I have had to use a heating pad a couple of times for some relief.
Best Wishes!

Symptoms is a herx.
A herx, and therefore a symptom, is inflammation.
The bacteria doesn't necessarily, directly, "cause" symptoms, but your body causes inflammation trying to fight the infection as well as toxin release from the dying bacteria.
There's very little difference to answer your question.

Have you taken your temperature to see if you're running even a low grade fever?
Often if I get that all over soreness that some kind of pain reliever doesn't touch, I remember to take my temperature and find everytime that I have a fever. Even one just above 99. will make you sore like you have the flu.
Mine varies but it's gotten bad enough It feels like I've been bounced down the interstate a mile or two. It's my body trying to fight the infection off, so I try to do some easy detox and drink my lemon water. And sometimes a good cry helps.
