Looking for Herbal protocol

Sorry, haven't done either, but there was a very recent post about the Cowden protocol and I know there are seversl posts in general on this one. Perhaps others will come along to answer about Dr. Rawls.

Keep in mind, there are tons of antimicrobial herbs. The great thing about herbal protocols is that they tend to do more than one thing, given there are hundreds of compounds in plants, opposed to single compounds in pharmaceuticals. But it's not necessary to follow only one protocol. Perhap I am just saying this because I've had years of experience being my own guinea pig, but I've learned how to take the best parts of every protocol. Samento by Cowden (also known as Cat's Claw in other brands), though, seems to be almost universally effective, based on the people I've talked to who've tried it.

I take Cat's Claw with Sarsaparilla and Oregano. And pulse onto other things. Mostly, I feel healthy enough to stay off herbals, and I attribute that to taking the long steady route of taking herbals while balancing my body, instead of taking antibiotics.

Never heard of Dr. Rawls. Cowdens protocol surprises me. There is virtually nothing on banderol in the scientific literature or in any historic literature. I desperately want to know how this man came up with it because it seems to be helping people. In fact I think i've heard more positive things about Cowdens protocol than just about anything else. I'm also very partial to the Buhner protocol. If lyme has left you any brain cells left to concentrate I suggest his books. They are very VERY detailed. The man is both scientific and visionary unlike anything else I have experienced. He gives a good breakdown of the organisms that cause tick-borne illness, discusses their ecological functions and transmission, discusses the controversy, discusses diagnostics, goes into an extremely detailed analysis of what they do inside the body, and then explains how one can attempt to use herbs to interfere with their functions at various parts of the process. I don't consider Buhners work so much a protocol as a map and trouble shooting manual for treating lyme. It's very flexible and leaves you with pretty much endless possibilities in regards to designing your own personalized herbal protocols

Buhner calls it a protocol in his books but he does add that it is not set in stone and that each person must individually modify it to their needs.

We have said this numerous times on this forum, and are probably remiss in not saying it each time we rally behind his protocol.

Yeah sorry I'm new to this forum so I don't know when I'm preaching to the choir or being genuinely helpful :P One thing I noted on other forums was that a lot of people took Buhners protocol to be "knotweed, cats claw, andrographis" and then complained it didn't work. To me, saying "buhners protocol doesn't work" is like saying "i've methodically tested every plant on this earth and they don't work" since his protocol is more of an approach to using herbal medicines in lyme than a set regimen.

I'm surprised Buhner hasn't started selling his own brand. I think I might have to come up with my own line of herbals.
