Anyone get second tick bite?

I'm camping in yellowstone and noticed a tick in my leg with a bullseye rash. I called my llmd in seattle and she called in a script of doxy to start. I have recently finnished 2.5 years or treatment for my last bite. I had been back to work and feeling pretty darn good.

I am so upset/scared I can't imagine reliving the last 5 years again.
Has anyone else on here gone through this? What did treatment the second time consist of? Were symptoms milder or worse? I feel like cognitivly I'm barely hanging on with memory issues and such.
Any insight would be greatly apreciated.

Ohh i just got bit by a horsefly and am in treatment 1 yr...sorry .my rife guy says new infection can fall pretty easy .....may wanna save tick to get tested also start other modalitie . .this just happenedvyo our beloved traveler mayve dhe can chime

I believe traveler got reinfected. I don't have much to say but my condolences man! You can't break your bond with nature for a darned tick, but good lord. At least you got it early this time.

I think people that live in a bubble are not prone to tick bites, but I don't think there is like a scent that attracts a tick.

From what I have read they have 8 legs and are generally deposited onto something by another something. Usually an animal. What they do is they hang onto that, let's say branch, with 2 legs and the other 6 legs are outstretched to grab onto the first thing that brushes by. This is how they survive, looking for another host. Their food is blood and they have to have it to survive.

Hmmm I'm not sure... Haven't read deeply into it but i remember buhner talking about strengthening immune responses against the tick itself and I know mosquitos tend to use a good bit of sensory mechanisms to determine the right biting spot. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some people were more prone to bites. I mean, if we are hunting an animal in a herd we pick our victim based on their weaknesses. I see no reason ticks would not have their own ways of sensing the optimum host. I mean, i don't know that for sure and it's an interesting question... But I feel that they probably do rely on a variety of cues from their victims that influence their feeding habits as most organisms do in some way or another.

I don't know about ticks, but mosquitos prefer certain people over others. There can be 20 people sitting at the fire pit in my back yard and my daughter will be the only one getting bitten. She also happens to be very allergic to them so she always wears repellant. Even with that, she gets attacked. I'm guessing ticks might be the same way???

mosquitos can literally smell your blood and they are attracted to certain kinds hence why some people seem to get bitten more like my wife.

I have always been attractive to mosquitos. Three of us camping...I will have several bites... other two not bitten...or maybe one bite.

I have wondered if it's the same with ticks.

This is crazy a second bite.... once i'm better i will never even step on grass again..... never!!!!

Yep, I am reinfected! But I fought the diagnosis and didn't treat fully, so now I'm back in full treatments. Not fun!! It's good that I know what I'm doing with detox, diet and even treatments, but I also dread everything now. So on the physical part of treatments, it's easier, it's just a lot harder for me mentally/emotionally I think.

I am now taking astragalus though, so I won't get Lyme again - I just don't know if it will protect me from the other infections that get passed.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I was wearing those REI treated pants, hiking boots, sox plus drenched in deet. It still climbed up my leg and attached. I feel like I did all I could. We even got an old motorhome this year so I wouldn't have to sleep in a tent dreaming of ticks mad
I can see how the emotional part is going to be the hardest. Eight months of IV's, endless oral abx and supplements all I can think about is the anxiety, POTS and depression coming back. And unfortunately I can't stay in a bubble, my walks in nature is what kept me sane last time.
