Thanks for the advice, everyone! I don't have any appts coming up soon, but I asked for a western blot kit to be sent to me from MD Labs. Our local lab did the wrong test when my doctor tried to order it. I figured this would be way more accurate. I'm going to ask my son's doctor to sign the lab requisition as that is all that will be needed once the kit arrives. If it comes back positive, then he can get treatment.
When the results come back, please share with us. Even if it's not a positive result...there may be lyme specific bands that are positive - which is significant when diagnosing lyme.
False negatives are a common occurrence...so don't despair if that does happen.
