tincture dosages

I just got my first bottles of Jap. Knotweed and Milk Thistle, 2 ounce each tinctures. I just did the math on the dosages and realize if I were to take them as suggested, the Milk Thistle will last 12 days, the K.W. 24, at best.

I don't plan on jumping in full strength, but now I'm concerned if I'm even going to benefit at all from these if I at least don't go full dose eventually, because it's going to demand a larger order of Milk Thistle, for sure.

I realize my next question depends on what else I'm doing, but can I do alternating days on the Milk Thistle, and still help my liver, or am I wasting my time not doing it full dose every day. As it is I knocked the dosage down to the lesser of 2x, rather than the 3X.

I have to be very careful with my finances, but sure don't want to throw it away being too conservative.

I really want to help my liver enzymes out, even though there have been no lab flagging, because I intend to get back on the Flagyl and Augmentin this Fall. or try Teasle.

I know I'm fighting neurolyme, and maybe Bartonella too, and I'm not to sure the RMSF has cleared out yet.

I would not do every other day on the milk thistle. What you could do is buy milk thistle powder and either incapsulate it or put it in a little water.

I actually make my own tinctures (at least the herbs I can buy in bulk). It saves a tremendous amount of money. It is so easy and if you want to do that we can give you some information on it.

At first you want to start out with the milk thistle. I would do this for a few days before starting the JK to detox the liver. I would also add in a few other detox methods if you are not already doing that.

When you start the JK do it 1 drop the first day. If you have no reaction go to 1 drop am and pm the next day. Then do that for 3-4 days. You should then increase the dose by a drop and take it 3 times a day. Just increase the dosage by a drop a day until you herx. Then go back to the previous dosage for a few days before trying to increase it again.

I did not take milk thistle. I am a huge foodie and I ate my liver support.

I have a little allergy to ragweed so I stayed away from milk thistle.

I ate:

Turmeric!!
Garlic
Sweet Potatoes
Tomato Sauce
Beet Greens and Spinach
Beans
Blackstrap Molasses
Bananas - but very infrequently because they constipate me.
Green Tea
Avocados
Cruciferous veggies
And my all time favorite -- Artichokes!!

All I've been doing for the past couple months is detoxing at least twice a day with about 4-5 different methods. It's been the worse summer in a very long time.

Today I decided to drop the acv, my reaction to that has been total body burning sensation, and we're in heat index warning here as it is. (no a/c) Plus I'm still throwing off heat and sweating with 99.5 temps 24/7.

I've been on 1/6 dosage of Milk THistle tincture since Monday night, and intend on going up by half tomorrow. My all over pain level and lethargy is horrible, I'm dragging my feet literally, to feed my animals. My half doses of low mg pain med every 6 hours isn't helping at all. I know that the tick bugs are doing this to me, and I'm anxious to start a drop of the knotweed tincture twice a day, or go back on the Flagyl. Something to try to inhibit this bacteria, but am so worried about making my over-all misery even worse.

I'm not going to get any better, skating along like this.


Keep in mind I am totally on my own and getting all my info here. Do you think starting on the knotweed or going back to abx that I have on hand might be a mistake at this time?

Oh, before you do anything, I really think you should consider upping whatever you're doing for detoxing and keep on increasing.

You feeling so horrible means your body is backed-up with toxins.

Taking bug killers will result in more toxins and will "just" make you feel worse.

How about taking a week to really focus on detoxing? Then, slowly start your attack and keep increasing your detoxing.

You need to stay ahead of the killing - it's your only hope of feeling improvements sooner rather than later.

Wow, I counted full dose(30 drops) 2xday rather than 3x and I came up with 24 days. Since I'm going to start with one single drop 2x day for a few, and gradually increase it, I think I can not only make it last longer, but share this bottle with my daughter.

Next month if she continues to chip in, I'll buy a bigger bottle, or two 4 ounce bottles depending how they price larger amounts, but my finances won't allow me to go crazy on this, particularly since I have other tinctures yet to order.

Oh, it's the milk thistle thats 3X day. JK is just 2. Ooops. Time to adjust my milk thistle dosings.

I ordered my tintures from sagewoman and I can't remember who's protocol this goes by. You must have jumped in full dosage at the get go.
