Bart info

Found this on another site and thought it was interesting. I am now convinced I have at least Bart as a co-infection. This is the only list where I've seen bilateral joint pain/stiffness mentioned. I'm lucky enough to have both left and right side involvement (it's why I had to undergo so much testing for RA and lupus).

Bartonellosis

Common symptoms of bartonellosis include:

___Fatigue (often with agitation, unlike Lyme disease, which is
more exhaustion)

___Low grade fevers, especially morning and/or late afternoon,
often associated with feelings of "coming down with the flu or
a virus"

___Sweats, often morning or late afternoon (sometimes at

___Nerve irritation symptoms which can be described as burning,
vibrating, numb, shooting, etc.

___Strange rashes recurring on the body often, red stretch
marks, and peculiar tender lumps and nodules along the
sides of the legs or arms, spider veins

That is true, Fronton - Lyme can really 'be' anywhere in our body.

What are the subtle differences in the foot pain? Or other subtle differences in the symptoms? This would be really helpful to know.

For me, the foot pain from Lyme is more of a really intense ache that covers most of my foot, muscle cramps in my feet/toes - but Bart foot pain often hits in the area of plantar fasciitis or feels like I'm literally walking on broken glass.

Nerve pain is a lot harder for me to tell the difference of, except when Bart is involved, it's much more intense and won't let up until I get to a certain point in treatment.

Babesia has sweats and air hunger, but those sweats are generally 'drenching sweats', whereas Bart sweats for me are just that - a bit of sweating at unusual times (like no change in activity levels, but start sweating until a light sweat is created, then it ends throughout the day).

For me, air hunger with Babesia was much worse than the 'out of breath' feeling I get with Bart. With Babs, it was very difficult for me to sleep at night because of the air hunger, with Bart, it goes away fast enough that I just lay there and concentrate on deep breathing for a little bit and I'm fine once again.

As I said, this is only how I feel it. I'm sure others have different experiences. I've just lived with these for so long now, and since this is my second go round with these infections, I'm noticing things like this.

I have been in a boot for a month with foot issues... before that started, I had been feeling tons better and I have tested negative for bart. -- but as I find out that doesn't mean much. My foot pain is brutal. Cannot bear weight. I treated it like Plantar all summer, night splints, orthotics, the works. I had MRI and it showed massive inflammation and the assumption is a stress fracture, but that makes little sense. You hit my pain right on the button when you said like walking on broken glass. Also, my pain is up the side of the hell, not where the tendon inserts. My heel feels all the time like I am standing on something foreign.

perhaps I need to approach my LLMD again regarding bart.... I can easily say YES to the below...

breathlessness... sometimes when I am just calmly talking. Usually also includes panicky feeling

I had a blood smear from Fry labs that showed bart-like organisms. Recently had a VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) test that showed very high levels. Supposedly this is indicative of a bart infection. I've been trying to read up on VEGF and bart. In my case I'm not surprised that bart would be one of my primary infections given my chronically swollen lymph nodes behind/under my ears and issues with anxiety amongst other things.

My sweats are: head(including face), pits, back, backs of hands.

I'm not sure if mine are Babs or Bart.

Interesting thread. I tested negative for Bart and Babs a few months ago before starting Byron White formulas. But now that we're actually killing something, I've been able to pinpoint more and more symptoms that seems Bart and Babs specific. Helpful list. I didn't know about the bilateral pains. Very interesting as my pain is all over. Both sides. Every side. All the sides. Haha. Regardless of what is actually causing these bizarre symptoms, I'm hoping we can find something that will attack each layer of this bloomin onion.
