When to add in a second antibiotic?

I have been on Ceftin for more than a week now and have been tolerating it well, better than when I was on doxycycline. Should I call my LLMD to prescribe a second antibiotic or should I continue Ceftin alone for a month?

You can add right away...or wait for a month.

If you've had trouble tolerating abx before...it might be better to wait a month.
Also, You could herx on the Ceftin in the next few weeks.

Are you seeing your LLMD in a month? If so, maybe that is what his plans are - to wait a month.

Good luck! I'm not any help with your question but also had a tough time with abx. The mods on here are experts - I'm sure they will lead you in the right direction.

My doc had me on tiered abx from the start. Doxy & tinidazol (spelling is likely not close). I did that for 8-9 months and then took a break as I didn't notice much, if any, change. I tried again several months later and turned to other options... but we may try a different tiered pair this fall. We need to track down, if we can, what infection I am fighting the hardest...
