Hello I am new here and would like some help understanding my test results. I have been ill for a long time, doctors say I have chronic fatigue syndrome. Recently had Lyme tests at Arminlabs Germany and these are some of the results:
Borrelia Elispot
Borrelia b.full antigen 8 SI
Borrelia b.0sp-mix. 7SI
Borrelia burgdorferi LFA-1. 4SI
Range (>3 positive)

T cell 88.14% (62.00-80.00)
NK cells Cd56+cd3. 4.21%. (6.00-29.00)
CD57+NK cells. 24/ul. (100-360)

But Borrelia IgG/IgM- Seraspot are all negative

So what I am wanting to know am I positive for Lyme? As my Elispot is positive and cd and T cells show I have infection but Seraspot negative?
I do not want to start taking antibiotics if I haven't got it. So any help much appreciated.

I am horrible at reading these test results from Armin. Hopefully someone with more experience will come along and help you read them.

If you haven't ​yet​, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists, helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, information on probiotics and much more. As for your test results - are all the ranges if it's above 3 your positive? If that's the case, then you do have Lyme, since each of those results are above 3 on the Elispot.

Did you have any rashes that you know of? What are your symptoms? A Lyme disease diagnosis is supposed to be based on symptoms more than the lab results because the tests aren't as sensitive as they need to be in order to pick up more than just 2 strains of Lyme.

Do you have a LLMD yet? If not, we may be able to help you find one.

Thanks for your reply. Yes above 3 is classed as positive, it's just I didn't know if you had to have a positive Elispot and positive Seraspot for a definite diagnosis.
I can't recall a bite, but it was years ago when I first became ill. My symptoms are fatigue, pains, headaches, bowel problems, face pain, dizziness, memory and concentration problems.
I don't have a llmd yet. I am unable to work, due to my ill health, so I may have to self treat, but I live in Yorkshire UK.

Unfortunately, you do have many of the symptoms that are associated with Lyme disease, and possibly other co-infections as well.

There are alternative medicine doctors that may be less expensive, or you can try one of the alternative medicine protocols that you can do at home, on your own. Buhner's, Cowden's are herbal protocols - there's also Rife machines, essential oils and others that you can also try. We have a wide range of treatments that people are using here and you can ask about many of them.

Hi I'm in uk, my sera spot was completely negative. My elispot was borderline/weak positive.I am treating. Good luck.

Welcome to this group of wonderful people who have helped me with my son soo much!

He had his test done at Armin labs and they are a little different to understand than Igenex. If you email Armin labs, there are people /doctors who will help explain the results at no extra cost. Maybe this will help while you are looking for a LLMD/LLND or deciding about treatment.

Actually the lab itself has a symptom list that will assist you in determining which tests you may want to get and a doctor emailed me back with suggestions which is helpful for people before they get lab work.

My antibiotics are changed every few months but at mo I'm taking a few things amoxicillin, mino and azith with flagyl pulsed plus a ton of supplements.
Herbs burbur, Pinella, Japanese knotweed. loads more, easily purchased in uk.

At the start of it all though after my initial round of nhs antibiotics, I did a period of herbs only, which held symptoms back well.
Mainly buhners protocol. Maybe try this until you get yourself on the right path?
This is by far best forum for info. The states are well ahead of us in regards to experience of treating and managing symptoms.

Thanks yes I think that is probably the best idea. I think I might start with the herbs. I believe Buchner has several books out is it worth purchasing one of them? Or do you think I could find all the info I need on his website?
Sounds like a lot of antibiotics you are taking, are you having many side effects. I am so scared of taking them as I am worried I might feel iller!

I would encourage you to buy the books for the infections you have. They aren't very expensive and they cover a lot more information and have "extended protocols" in the books. You can easily get started with the information on the site based on Buhner's protocols though.

Yes definitely buy because as traveler says, they explain a lot more than simply what to take. Antibiotics aren't the cure all when it comes to Lyme so even if you go down the antibiotic route symptoms may crop up that you may feel the abx aren't covering because of co infections etc. I guess all depends on the approach of your future doctor. A good bookshelf staple in my opinion. There is a recommended herbalist by Buhner in the UK who uses and produces his recommend herbs. I think this is listed on his site. You could contact her for guidance or an appointment?
Yes lots of antibiotics but not taken everyday thankfully so actually quite slow and steady and mostly ok to tolerate, I wouldn't personally want to go to a doctor who wants to carpet bomb me with antibiotics every day for the next couple of years. Yes Plenty of side effects and worsening of symptoms for me unfortunately! On the flip side there have been plenty of times I have felt okay and some symptoms have disappeared. youve definitely got to learn to focus on the positive rather than the negative with this disease! How long do you believe you have had Lyme then?
