Hi Traveler,
Yes, I am back due to the continued support that you all have provided. I can't thank you all enough for it.
Thank you for the links there. I feel like the chronic tonic herbs have more elements than Buhners and would cost less in the long run. That would help out as I have already spent so much on doctor visits, testings and supplements. Traveler do you know if any of the herbs cross the blood brain barrier?
Well, I'm so very glad you are back!!! I thought I was completely doomed when abx failed me, but I chose to go against the grain and try using herbs only to heal - I was only the 2nd person on this forum at that time to even consider herbal only treatments - and yet it worked wonders for me.
Well, according to Buhner's 2nd edition of Healing Lyme, Japanese Knotweed can stop the bacteria from entering the brain due to it's effects on the endothelial cells and junctions. But he goes into great detail about
which herbs will be helpful for different "brain symptoms". I would encourage you to get his book just for the information that is provided about
the different herbs - as you noted, there are many of the same herbs in the Chronic Tonic as is in Buhner's protocols.
A word though - Misty Meadows claims (or used to) that the Chronic Tonic is all that's needed for all the infections. I did not find that to be true and had to address Bartonella and Babesia separately, but I did not have to address RMSF, Brucella, Anaplasma, Ehrlichia and others separately.
