Looking for LLMD/LLND in San Diego County (north county)

I am interested in in seeing an LLMD or LLND in north county area (preferably Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas).

Last year I was diagnosed with RA, low thyroid and a huge, fast growing fibroid but generally feel well. I recently had a total hysterectomy and just started hormone replacement therapy. My primary symptoms are a few minimally painful finger joints, hand and foot stiffness in morning and brain fog. I do not believe I have RA but am on methotrexate which I am anxious to discontinue.

I recently saw a complimentary MD who said I may have Lyme Dz. Here are my Western Blot results: IgG P23 Ab "present". No other Lyme tests ordered. I was told I had two options: Have a $1200 IGeneX test which is never covered by insurance or begin treatment. The treatment includes meds which are contraindicated for methotrexate and HRT.

Hi valerie - welcome to our community!

Band 23 is specific to lyme...having that band positive is indicative of lyme disease - so you don't really need to do further testing...LLMD's should diagnose you clinically, and use the testing just for back-up.
You could go to the first appt. and see what testing they want.

Are you willing to share which meds are contrindacted with the hormone replacements?

Girlie can you explain why the New to Lyme thread says:

23-25 outer surface protein C (OspC), specific for Bb(Lyme)

but the site that Traveler sites says: (http://www.reocities.com/HotSprings/Oasis/6455/western-blot.txt)

23-kDa OspC
*24-kDa OspC
25-kDa OspC [specific for Bb]

So one combines 23-25, I can read and understand that. But the other with 23 alone does not say specific for Bb?

Confusing to me and I am sure others.

Then we should not cite this link (http://www.reocities.com/HotSprings/Oasis/6455/western-blot.txt) because it can mislead someone that only has a positive band 23 into thinking that they are not positive for Bb.

Maybe it is a Labcorp or Quest wb test result. That may explain where the reocities site came from.

I just use the one on the New To Lyme - that is from Ticker and seems to be what I have seen for most results.
