Hello So far been on doxy n erythromycin for 6 wks gotten on and off rapid heart rate . Last night felt short of breath and rapid heart rate Especially when im asleep, thought i was getting use to it. Couple wks ago same thing happened, think I should go to cardiologist. Any thoughts. Worried

Poohcheez - it might be good to do research about side effects of the doxy and erythromycin. Also, do you think it might possibly be herxing? What are you doing for detoxing. Anytime I am concerned about something I check in with a medical professional. Are you working with an LLMD? If you are worried, to ease the worry, it might be worth a trip to whatever urgent care there is in your area. I know sometimes it can take a bit to get in. Hang in there!

Hello i work with a llmd he wanted to switch to omnicef from doxy makes me anxious, i dont know if its anxiety n doxy. Causing palps but during the day i dont get it. Nor the the short of breath

I think it is something you should call your llmd and ask him.

I think you should definitely call your doctor, it's heart, don't mess with it.
However, erythro is more likely to cause such a reaction than doxy (macrolides may cause heart issues)

Yes i definitely will tell him again the doxy def gives me anxiety and makes me feel weird he usually emails me or i talk to his secretary hes so busy. Hes in nyc wish was a dr on long island maybe i should just go to cardiologist to rule out what exactly is i know as soon as i take the meds makes me instantly anxious i know when i exercise i feel better, the other day did pool therapy and slept like a baby i have another 6 wks.

The macrolides can cause Long QT Syndrome - so definitely discuss with your LLMD.

Erythromycin is not a common prescribed antibiotic for lyme, though.
Usually biaxin or azithromycin are used (from macrolide class)

If I were you, I would take a day off of the antibiotics (let your LLMD know, though) and see how you feel...and of course be diligent about detoxing.
