Teeth pain and swollen glands

I am at 2 1/2 weeks into treatment and my teeth and glands hurt so much. These have been symptoms for some time, but the pain is now at a new level. Is this more than likely from starting treatment? If so, how long does worsening of symptoms last? Any suggestions for getting the pain to decrease?

I had a massage two days ago and that seems to have set off a big flare or maybe it is coincidence.

Anxiety tends to be one of my symptoms as well. I keep telling myself the pain is just the Lyme fighting back.

Are you on good probiotics...taking enough of them daily? (important for gut health)

Also, a binder helps flush out the toxins from the digestive track - eg. activated charcoal.

That's a really good start...try and add in more detoxing.

Personally, I'd reconsider the Tom's. I didn't have much luck with that brand (never felt truly clean).

My situation is rather different. I had nerve pain in my mouth from a very negative dental experience. I was in daily pain for several weeks. Nothing helped that I tried - even taking Advil. Went back to dentist who said he has never seen anybody in pain like I was in this type of situation and had nothing to offer me (gee, thanks). Finally, I decided to try essential oils. I was very nervous about this, as there is conflicting information about taking them orally. So, I very CONSERVATIVELY took one drop of a pain essential oil blend (contained peppermint oil, clove oil, etc) and diluted it with fractionated coconut oil... (I may have used just clove oil too at some point - again, always diluted with just one drop only). I applied in my mouth with a q-tip and then spit out the rest. I did that a few times. And guess what? My daily pain for several weeks went away just like that! I was truly amazed and every so thankful. The daily pain in the mouth - for many weeks - was really miserable and was getting me down.

And FWIW - my background on EOs is that I was cautiously curious about them, and I've been trying them out the last few years. Honestly, I feel that can be pretty over hyped at times. I've found them to be amazing (like above scenario) and then also apparently do nothing too. So, I have mixed experiences with them. But no doubt on above - I was so thankful. :)

I have no idea whether this could help your situation, but I thought I'd share it in case it could help somebody. I remember feeling so loss and alone trying to figure out my nerve pain in my mouth!

Thanks for the ideas. I am a bit afraid to injest EOs too. I will look into clove oil.

I would see a biological dds-if the infection is in the bone you wont get it out with oil pulling.
Sometimes if you clear the infection much of your health will improve-can be the key to recovering-sometimes

Just to be clear, I didn't actually injest it. I applied topically in my mouth and then spit it out afterwards. I didn't want to injest either. :)

I know what you meant.

I pulled out my EO books. I assume us lymies need to be careful though and watch our symptoms when using EOs.

I a not sure. I see my doctor on Oct 27 to discuss the co-infections and any changes that need to be made to my current protocol. I am so new to this that I don't know what is causing what.

I agree with most of the suggestions already posted! Great input. Here are my three suspicions:

SEVERE pain in teeth is probably a sinus infection - likely stirred up by your treatment.

MAJOR pain in teeth could be a bacterial infection in the tooth, roots, gum, or bone.

Sinus pain -
This can be due to bacterial infection stirred up by the abx ---- however, I had chronic sinusitis and bronchitis and it was fungal, not bacterial. Only continued treatment and DETOXING is going to help you through this kind of pain. I feel for you. You can try flushing sinuses - net pot and the like... others might have specific recommendations about that.

TMJ pain -
is classically a tibomandibular joint pain like an arthritic pain, along with sore muscles. The teeth can kind of have a dull pain the next day after grinding and chomping all night. I've had TMJ since I was 9... but it's a VERY different kind of pain than SEVERE pain caused by sinus pain. It's tough to identify unless you have different kinds of pain to compare it to. I also suspect that some people grind/chomp their teeth at night because a bacterial infection can cause agitation in the teeth and so you subconsciously put pressure on the teeth to relieve the agitation, causing the grinding. Just my theory. I've noticed that my TMJ activity is worse the nights I don't brush my teeth before bed (which is unusual - only when I accidentally fall asleep).

The swollen nodes -
are a dead giveaway that you've stirred the hornet's nest - but this is all good, you're doing exactly what you need to do and your nodes are confirming that your antibacterial protocol is working. Help out your lymph system by drinking a ton of water and red root also helps flush your lymphs. You might also want to start doing dry brushing and massaging - but read up on it and be very careful.

Oil pulling -
has been very helpful for me and others - add an antibacterial like oil of oregano, tee tree oil... and NEVER ingest the oil you're pulling bacterial into (that is where it gets its name - you're using the oil to pull bacteria out of your mouth tissues as you swish the oil around).

I also like the Kava tea suggestion - even if it isn't TMJ.

Who said to be careful with dry brushing and massage?

I had a massage on Thursday and on Friday I felt horrible. I don't know if it had anything to do with the massage.

Do you recommend to use the red root even if your lymphs are not swollen? I don't swet at all and I feel relief when I use the IR sauna, the only thing that make me swet a lot. Should I give it a try?

I also meant to add that red root helped bring my very painful and swollen nodes back to normal.

Mentioned to be careful with dry brushing and massage when you first start and your nodes are swollen and painful... be gentle with the brushing and don't do massage until you learn a little about it. Always move in a direction toward your heart. The key is to move your blood.
