So, Ive been infected about 2,5 years ago with flaring symptoms, from neurological to muscles and joints pain. Ive been on atbs of all kind for a while (about a 1,5 years all together). Since April this year I havent used any atbs and for about a year now Ive only had occasional pain in my knees, sometimes hand and muscle twitches all the time. Everything else is gone. Now im using dapsone and rifampicine but no herx or reaction. Could I be left with these forever? Regardless of how many more atbs I would take, since last year I was on atbs for 9 months (good, pulsed therapy) and none of the symptoms above were improved.
Im using various supplements, from zinc to vitamin c, b, beta glucan and others. These symptoms are very mild and dont bother my everyday life, I work a lot, about 12hours a day, workout and more. But Im still kinda scared, since I guess bacteria is still inside and I remember those few months when I could barely walk due to joint pain, or get up since I was so tired.

Please share some advices.

Welcome to the board. You are in the right place. The moderators and kind people on here really helped me. Save me and my sanity.

You sound very strong that you can work long days and exercise so that is very good. Have you been detoxing the entire time? There is complete detox thread in the 'welcome to lyme' post. The very first one at the top. That is a must. Are you taking herbs? Many on here find success with herbs. They will be able to guide you as to where you should begin. I'm only on since July so not sure I can give herb advice yet.

My understanding, and this could be incorrect, is that you need to be symptom free for six months before you can consider yourself in remission. It can be done and there are posters on here in remission. I hope to be one one day -and you can be too. We're here for you.

Huddie is right, if you've had those symptoms from the beginning, and they ad still not cleared, you are still in need of more treatment. The only misunderstanding the Huddie has, is that you should be symptom free for 2 months before stopping treatments.

Some choose to switch to herbs at this point, some choose to stay with abx treatment.

Zoner, welcome to our community! Congratulations on making awesome progress. It sounds like you are very close to remission. If you are feeling fear, it might be prudent to begin to integrate some herbs to support the process and protect the body. The reason it's 2 months is because the Lyme bacteria cycles (reproduces) every 3 - 6 weeks, so that gives most people one or two months too catch stragglers, those bacteria that may go on to continue to reproduce is left behind.

Have you asked your llmd this question?

I am one that is healed and I don't have any lingering symptoms - *knocks on wood*

Those lingering twitches could be a co-infection that was not hit with antibiotics. I suggest a talk with your llmd.

Im not new to the forums here, but thank you still for a warm welcome.

Ive been trying with various atbs, and as I said Im using dapsone along with rifampicine now, but I feel like they do no good with these lingering stuff. Im at like 94% and trying to figure out what should I use to get to the end of my fight.
If someone is willing to tell me which herbs or oils should be way to go, im willing to try.

Also, i would not mid having these symptoms for the rest of my life but im kinda scared hat one day it might get worse, knowing the fact that its still very inside of me

Twitching is nerve related ...i am using high dose biotin ,royal jelly magnesium theonate ..iv mag sulfate ,and phosphotydlycholine and efa ..bart is a doozy ..and dap depletes folate ....id quit and ride out some bvt...build gut ,treat parasites and see where you are at

I totally relate to this and that is why I've continued with treatment but it's been herbal treatment.

It's been quite the long haul for me and I'm not done. However, the few remaining minor symptoms I have are improved and one of them has been gone for awhile now.

Would you consider a consultation with one of Buhner's recommended herbalists? I regret not consulting one sooner than I did. Many of them do phone consults and the two I called had very reasonable fees.

I will do Buhner as soon as im done with dapsone, which I will be taking for two months, after that I will go only herbal. Thank you endlessly for your kind replies and advices
