Terrible nausea, increased light and sound sensitivity

I can't tell if I am still herxing or if this is from the Cefdinir. Nausea is terrible; I ran to the bathroom three times yesterday feeling like I was going to vomit. By the end of the day, I was hoping I WOULD vomit just to feel better. It is a little better today, but not much. I don't recall having this as part of my Lyme symptoms, at least not to this extent.

Also have really bad light and noise sensitivity. It's really hard to concentrate at work with the lights on.My boss said I could wear sunglasses but I have yet to do so hahaha

Noise sensitivity is bad too: it doesn't startle me (which is an improvement lol) but any noise, such as phone ringing, is almost painful.

Last round of abx, I felt like I had the flu everyday (chills, fever, etc) This round, i feel like it's a migraine everyday.

Increasing detoxing hasn't helped so far. :(

I meant to stop and buy ginger tea on the way into work but I got up too late (again) lol

I do dry brushing, alka seltzer gold, yogi detox tea, and about a gallon of lemon water every day. I have been alternating apple cider vinegar. I know there's something else I do but I just can't remember it.

Now might be a good time to try binders like activated charcoal. Although it's a bit tough to figure out when to take them, they are superb at mopping up toxins, especially when you can't seem to 'get on top' of your detoxing needs. Remember that they need to be kept 2 hours away (before and after) from all supplements/meds/food/ and anything you want your body to absorb. Many take them at night, when they get up to use the bathroom. And remember to drink a full 8 - 10 ounces of water with it, as constipation is the worst to deal with. It allows more toxins to be released into the body when we are constipated too.

I would guess that your symptoms are from herxing, not side affects of cefdinir. To my knowledge cefdinir is pretty well tolerated and I (someone who doesn't tolerate meds very well) have always tolerated it just fine. Herxing, however, can really, really mess up your body. I get the same exact symptoms you've listed when I herx and I am so sorry you're experiencing them because they are the worst. The fact that you're going to work is seriously impressive. Light and sound sensitivity, and serious nausea are common when you herx. The best advice I can give you is just to push through and get through the antibiotics. Your herxing symptoms should stop once you are off of them. I went through a course of antibiotics about a month ago and while on them my herxing was absolutely terrible (I had the same symptoms you're having) but the symptoms went away once I finished taking the abx. It sucks that the only answer is just to push through but I'm afraid thats all you can do. I hope you start feeling better as soon as possible!

Pushing through herxing can be very dangerous for some, and the problem is, we never know if we are one of those it's dangerous for until we get close to "the edge". That's why pushing through a herx is discouraged here, and by many LLMD'S.

I've talked with too many people who have tried pushing through, some have made it, but some have landed in an ER, and since no one wants to have to go there (they rarely know what to do, or will even recognize what we are really dealing with).

PMM - that's GREAT that you're feeling better!! Yes, binders can really work that fast!! They are perfect to help settle down some extra herxing, as long as you follow the "rules" for using them. It shows you were definitely herxing.

But, I think we can all relate to the feelings of "MORE pills to take?!?! Arrrg!" *cringe*. I know I sure do! But as you said, it's a lot better than the alternative!
