I have 4 brown spots on my face (2 on each side) which I've had for a long time. They didn't all appear at once, although I don't know the exact timeline. I always thought it was sun damage or liver spots, even though they appeared when I was in my 30s. The crazy part is - and I just noticed this yesterday - they are exactly symmetrical! They are in the exact same spot on each side of my face. Being that my Lyme is symmetrical too, I'm thinking now it is Lyme related. Or is it just a crazy coincidence??
I also noticed I have brown spots on my legs now, along with sunken holes which look different from cellulite. (And, yes, they are symmetrical as well.) Is this Lyme or Bart? (Also have tons of spider veins.) Do they go away? (I know it's rather common as I've read past posts, but I don't recall seeing anyone who said they go away or what to do for them.) I don't mind aging gracefully...but this accelerated aging is not graceful by any means.
On a different note, does anyone know what physiologically causes the symmetry? It's intriguing to say the least. Is it the brain or the immune system? Or is it just a mystery?
Thanks in advance for tolerating my crazy thoughts lol

I have no idea about
the symmetry, but my skin sure did change with lyme. The first thing I noticed was the crepe paper like skin. It was old lady skin!! Collagen, biosil and more water helped with that.
I have brown spots on my face and what is so strange is that there is 1 on the side that was exposed to the sun daily and 3 on the protected side. I have no idea if the windshield sun made a difference????

I can't say I have the symmetry but i definitely have the skin issues. My skin has gotten so thin and crepey that it feels like saran wrap over bones. Yuck! Lol And I am getting so many old lady barnacles it is driving me crazy!
Most of my issues are on my left side but the skin issues seem to be all over. It is hard enough feeling sick a lot but dealing with the vanity of looking old just adds to the stress. I guess there are worse things though.
I am not sure there is any explanation for Lyme and cos, but the symmetry issue is definitely interesting! I will be curious to hear what others have to say!

They are all about
1/2cm in diameter. (Pretty sure I still know how to use a ruler lol)

Hmmmm...that's pretty sizable. I've had little brown dots appear and then go away. Not sure what that's about
. On my list to ask my doctor at my next appointment.

Crepe paper skin is famously a Lyme symptom. Just google the two together. Borrelia steals hyluronic acid from the collegen lattice.

Sounds like melasma, which I also have on my face but not in a symmetrical pattern. Melasma is believed to be hormone related. I tend to break out on each side of the face, but am unsure of the reason.
