I was actually reading about CXCL13 last night. Interesting stuff.
But, it states on the page linked to: "Neuroborreliosis CXCL13 is characterized by left ventricular hypertrophy in the absence of a predisposing cardiac or cardiovascular condition. " So, if you don't have significant heart issues, you won't have the CXCL13 that they are looking for in this test.
But, they also put up this disclaimer:
"Clinical Sensitivity: Unknown. Mutations in the promoter region, some mutations in the introns and other regulatory element mutations cannot be detected by this analysis. Large deletions/duplications will not be detected by this analysis. Results of molecular analysis should be interpreted in the context of the patient's clinical/biochemical phenotype."
Leaves me with little confidence in their testing, even for those with the conditions specified.
I'll be interested to see what others that know more about the genetic side of this have to say though.
