Ahhh...thanks again Trav. So my nasal swab came back high with MRSA. Is that something I should be very concerned about? My understanding is a lot of people walk around with MRSA in their nostrils but may not necessarily be infected. I do not think I display sx of MRSA, things like boils, rashes, etc.
I don't know a lot about
MRSA...but I will share my father's experience.
He went into the hospital for a relatively minor hip surgery.
They swabbed him for MRSA - he had it...I don't know the level...but he had to be in isolation to protect the others in the hospital who may have compromised immune function.
He was never treated for it...and did not have any symptoms of an infection.
A few months later he was back in the hospital for something different...and they swabbed him again..and said no MRSA, no isolation.
I wondered how it could change...and thought maybe there weren't any available rooms to have him in isolation...and were just 'ignoring' his MRSA...
