Coinfections etc and lab results

Hi everyone,

I posted on here before, as I did not test positive for Lyme but had band 23 of on the IGM WB. I was able to get into an LLMD, and he was not sold on Lymes for me. he said he was 50/50 and shared that the Lyme tests are notoriously bad and wanted to do some tests. He did not start with the Igenex but rather some Labcorp tests I've never had before. Based on the results, he says I have tick co-infections, and therefore probably do have lymes. He has me on 2 antibiotics (clindamycin and doxy) and malarone. I just saw my regular doc today, who actually has a lot of experience with infectious disease and he's not convinced. I did start the medicine, but I wanted to get your thoughts because I have a lot to lose if this doctor is wrong. I have terrible fungal issues that I've been unable to control for 5 years, and antibiotics is like the worst thing I can do for that. I am taking RX antifungals w/ the antibiotics, but antibiotics are best for me to avoid if I can. of course, if this real, I will gladly take them. Here were my results. What are your thoughts? I got the Igenex test done after that one, and will get results in around 2 weeks.

Thanks Traveler! Whoops, yeah, I forgot to highlight the B12, that was high. DHEA is always low for me, partly due I'm sure to my Adrenal Insufficiency.

Do you think it makes sense to treat for Babesia, or would you not trust that result?

I have had only IgM band 23 show up on all my WB tests. As Traveler says you most likely have lyme too. That's quite a group of test results. I had to fire my PCP of 10 years, and a rheumatologist I was seeing for joint pain and stiffness because they didn't support my Lyme diagnosis. Just try not to discuss Lyme and co's too much with the ID doc.

It's not known what are all the factors that contribute to a low CD57 result. We know that some Lyme patients with very high functioning states have very low CD57 results, and some of the sickest, most debilitated patients have very good CD57 results. Those with low test results can usually track their CD57 by testing a couple of times a year and see it raise as they heal.

Thanks! Yeah, that's what I was thinking too about the CD57. I will definitely keep treating. And I'm surprised he didn't do it, but my Vit D levels are always really good (I take a supplement). Thanks guys!

Oh that's really good feedback. I wish so too. Do you know if Igenex tests that? He did run the Igenex, just waiting for the results.

Hey you have positive babs and rmsf ...dna connexions was able to give a answer on the ytpe of bartonella i was dealing with and a positive borrelia test if i ever have to fight insurance ...using alternative dx helps ..welcome sorry

Yes n no ...i was negative like jabele through quest labcorp because the where onlh testing for antibodies to henslae and quintana ,

i am extra lucky to have bartonella bacilliformis ...it is considered more virulent and harder to treat ...untreated it does have high mortality rates ..i am considering using levaquin or finding gentamycin if rifampin doesnt cut it ..i am pairing with zith but i know mino may be better ...the roceph may be helping endocarditis too but valves may have been hit already ....

it may indicate why some can throw everything at it and it still persists ...however unlike the internet says i never went to peru or columbia just cancun . I am also going to persist with a bart and bvt ...from my microscopy myco rmsf or babs may also be at play ...inrercellular proteobacterium really bite
