How long have you had the issue? I had the same problem and cleaning up my diet and giving it some time knocked it back dramatically. Hang in there it's miserable i know. Not much experience with gabapentin. I took it a few times in large doses but not as prescribed so i can't help there. Kratom helps a good bit with the residual burning in my legs, but who knows how long that will be legal.
Kratom is wonderful. I would not be able to function without it. It gives me the ability to function despite this disease and all of the pain and fatigue it causes.
I used to combat the chronic pain with oxycontin and other opioids but kratom allowed me to stop the opioids without withdrawal. My thought is clearer than when on opiods.
I came off of gabapentin earlier this year also. This was very tricky to do. For a couple years I thought gabapentin was providing relief for the additional pain that developed in my upper back four years ago that the oxycontin could not help, but it became less effective in recent times and rather than taking the dose up it was time to wean off. Kratom allowed me to do this.
Kratom was able to relieve it all of the muscle and spine pain. I use 7-8g as needed (every 4-6 hours on average). EZ Kratom made it affordable by buying by the kilo. Green Maeng Da works the best for me in the daytime and Borneo is better at night as it is more sedating and less stimulating. The difference is subtle but its easier to sleep with Borneo.
Sometimes I have good mornings and I can make it to the late afternoon with no kratom but by then the muscle and joint pain begin to get intense.
On good days I have found I only needed two doses. My pain is chronic but inconsistent which is why I dont believe it is completely a structural issue.
Doctors admit I have a herniated disc at L5 S1 but there is so much muscle pain often before the disk will even flare.
The gabapentin was for pain that would occur between T10 and T4. It was not always in the same spot. An MRI revealed nothing remarkable in this area but man did it hurt.
There is so much compression and gravity makes it so painful by late in the day. I would get some relief by bending forward and my back would decompress with about
3-4 clicks or pops. My wife could hear it across the room.
But I would have to do this almost every 20 minutes for such temporary relief.
I now believe much of this is due to nematodes or something that has gotten into my muscle and spine.
I have hope that I will cure much of it with antihelmintics. Or that this will be the start of the healing.
I hope that when I rid myself of the nematodes that I will be able to reduce or stop the kratom, but for now I am so very thankful for it.
