Hi fellow Lymies,

I have a question for you. I am recently diagnosed though probably I have had Lyme for 8 or so years just didn't know what was causing the fatigue, stomach bloating, depression, and 30 odd other symptoms--you all know how it goes. I have been on antibiotics for 1 month but I want to add some additional treatments as it doesn't sound like people get better without trying multiple tactics. To that end I am on the Cowden herbal protocol and Colloidal Silver, and...

I just started getting DIV Ozone from someone here in New York City. He insists that his patients come at minimum 3 times per week. Actually he strongly encourages coming more, as much as twice a day 6 days a week if you can. He says this will lead to the swiftest healing. He is very confident and convincing in his speech. When you ask him how many treatments you might need he says there is no way to know, anywhere from 20 - 200 or more, but this will cure you for sure. No question in his mind.

Of course at $100/pop, or $1,000 for a 12 treatment package, who the hell can afford to get better. Sure, I could do 20, maybe 30 treatments but not much more than that. So I found an alternative solution - a home machine (also pricey) that this Doctor will sell to me so I can do unlimited treatments. I thought this was a good solution he said, a home machine cannot be an alternative, it has to be a supplement. The home machine works rectally, i.e., through the tushy (after an enema), he says this will not cure you. It is not strong enough a method. It will help you get better quicker if you keep coming to me to get DIV ozone treatments but it will not cure you.

I am thinking of course he is going to say this, he wants my business. But anyone have any reaction to this or better yet any experience with home ozone treatments maybe vs. DIV treatments. Thanks for your thoughts on the matter. I want to get better so badly but I just don't have $1000s to spend. If I KNEW this would cure me that would be one thing, but who even knows how effective Ozone is. Thoughts? Thanks so much for your help.

I assume by DIV you mean direct in vein ozone. Most LLMD's do Major Autohemotherapy (MAH) which is a procedure during which blood is drawn, mixed with an ozone/oxygen mix, and then reinserted into the patient. It is considered much more effective then DIV and is also more expensive.

There was an online summit in I believe May. One of the speakers discussed home ozone and stated that home ozone could replace 2 MAH treatments per week(standard aggressive schedule) if done daily. It's not a perfect replacement but it's certainly an affordable one. You do of course have to make sure that your bowels are clear so the ozone gets to your gut and works to boost your immune system that way.

Welcome healpath ...yes use everything ...i found bee venom and rife to be most helpful...ozone is better than h202 ..iv ..3x a week got very old on veins ..until i got a port ...nothing about lyme is cheap except bees even then keeping hives can get pricey

I did MAH (UBI) w/ ozone for several months and went into complete remission for nearly a year. I honestly have never felt better in the last decade.

My assumption is that I didn't do enough of them. I didn't follow the symptom free for 2-3 months rule.

I have been bitten by what seems like co-infections, plus I found out about CIRS and my inability to do phase 2 detox... confirmed MTHFR also... but I think those things are all related.

The UBI was hard on my veins, so I stopped. I understand that insufflation can take longer but is effective in the long run.

I needed a break from the needles and veins, so I went Buhner.

DIV is much harder on the veins, however my doctor offers both and many patients are doing well with it. My doctor did say that there are extra risks when doing DIV.

Funny that your doctor said you needed to keep going to him. I had 2 doctors who told me if I decided to continue with ozone then I could invest in a home machine as it would save me money. They also said that I would not need to do the ozone treatments at their office but could opt to do some of the other services.

I started seeing Dr. R last year. At first, I went about 3-4-5 times a week. I slowed down to about 2-3. I went for about 3 months. I stopped going for a while then went back for a month or so and stopped. I am not really consistent with it, I should be going 3-4-5 times a week, minimum of two times a week for a long time, according to him. I don't really believe him in all his praising of ozone. I think ozone definitely works, it's been proven to work. However, my problem isn't with ozone, it's with him. I think he's kind of a scumbag and is in it mostly for the money. Although he is cheaper than other doctors, he uses DIV ozone via IV push, not IV infusion, so the half-life of ozone only stays in your body for about 5-10 minutes. Is that long enough to do any good? Maybe, I don't know. He reminds me of a cheap car salesman.

I think ozone def works, but it is not a cureall for everyone. I think it can be a great therapy that you use in addition to other stuff. He basically says to stop wasting your money on everything else and just spend it on ozone. Well dude...you can't say that about other treatments, you haven't tried every other therapy because you haven't been in our shoes. He truly is a one-trick pony, but if he knows what he's doing, than maybe the 100 dollars a pop is worth it.

You could also try getting a machine at home and medical grade ozone and learning to do infusions yourself, perhaps hiring a nurse with ozone experience to teach you, that may be a way to go.

I would do both-I bought an ozone generator for 600 for RI and have been doing weekly ten pass for 700.
Its really helping and I am about ready to change the ten pass to every other week.
