1000Daisies - I don't know enough about
the Cholestyramine to comment.
I know with other binders like Activated charcoal, it is okay to not take every day (although daily is recommended), but I'm not sure about
Cholestyramine.
This will bump back to the top.

Cholestyramine is mainly used for mold exposure and yeast issues, and if that's what you are using it for, then it needs to be taken daily. If you/they are taking it for a general detoxing aid, then you do not have to take it daily. Just be sure to keep it a minimum of 30 minutes before (and 2 - 3 hours after) away from the things you want the body to absorb.

Daisies did you try the pectasol? If not, that may be another option before trying the cholestyramine since you're not using it for mold.

Dear 1000 Daisies -
This past October, I was diagnosed with Lyme and Babesia (microti and duncani) with other minor co-infections. My LLMD suspected that I have alot of neurotoxins which caused many of my symptoms. I was given cholestryamine and have been taking it for a month. Initially, all my symptoms flared up and got worse, but after that storm, I have recently seen improvements. I have alot of nerve pain and had cold feet and hands. Since taking cholestryamine, my hands and feet are much warmer. Pls take my experience with a grain of salt, as I am early in my treatment for my chronic illnesses.
Here is a link that might provide some text of its use. http://jennaslymeblog.com/cholestyramine-for-chronic-lyme-disease/
Good luck and I hope your son feels better.

I took the pure Cholestyramine powder. I did not do well on it. Since it is very strong, I would take it as far away from your herbals as possible, at least 3-4 hours away. I tend to have some rare side effects. It seemed to tear up my stomach.
I did, however, do great on Welchol, which is about
25% as effective as the CSM. My newer doctor however does not like Welchol. She won't refill my prescript
ion.
There is also Takesumi Supreme, which is stronger than activated charcoal. Activated Charcoal helps me as well. I think I might try Takesumi. It is supposed to bind to more toxins than CSM.
Just my experience. Everyone is different.

CSM is something I took for months. I don't have mold exposure, and I couldn't bind all the toxins from the Lyme. It truly helped me, but it's a bit tough to schedule everything... the dose for me was 4 times per day, and about
1/2 to 1 hour after a dose, you need to eat something with significant fat in order to help the binder. I was also doing Buhner herbs. I had great success, and after our Hansa visit, it's something I am no longer doing... but only because I am trusting my doc at Hansa. He has me on a couple different, non prescript
ion binders for now.
I had no side effects, except absolutely A+ bathroom results (TMI?) ... it was amazing.
