Paresthesia

I have not posted in a while but could use some feedback.

I think I am making progress lately yet I am very concerned that my paresthesia (pins and needles sensations) are increasing. For a while I mainly had them on my feet and now I am getting them all over. I wonder what this means. Could it be herx? Or perhaps the Lyme is flairing. I am aggressively treating with abx and herbals. Any suggestions? I also wonder if anyone has done anything that helped address these sensations

Sometimes when we treat one infection, another one comes to the forefront.

I'm wondering if that's what is happening? You've got some symptoms getting better, and the paresthesia getting worse.

What antibiotics are you using to treat?

Before I began Diflucan (Fluconazole) and was dealing with mold inhalation and was ignorant to this fact that I had inhaled much prolonged mold, the paresthesia was more like stinging and crawling sensations and they drove me bats&it crazy.

I had no idea mold could cause this. I thought I had skin parasites but it was totally mold sickness, or so I thought.

After a long love hate 6 month relationship with Diflucan then I had noticed that whenever I stopped the med, the paresthesia returned but it was not as intense. It had become more of the tingles.

I was confused. Surely the meds would have knocked out any yeast infection especially with the high doses I used.

Only after the initial cycle of Ivermectin did paresthesia cease with me.

Recently a super mild hardly noticeable version of it returned along with signs of skin fungal infection in the head area so I decided to hit it with Ketoconazole shampoo and Itraconazole.

I read somewhere (I wish I could relocate the source) that Fluconazole can only push the fungal infection out of the CSF and into the subcutaneous layers of the skin.

My intuition had been saying I must finish this with Itraconazole but I was scared because I could only handle 8 days on the first cycle before getting chest pains that took another 12 days to resolve after stopping the medication.

I finally worked up the courage to revisit Itraconazole and I am confident that this will be my last episode of paresthesia but I will only know for sure when I stop the Itraconazole.

The good news is I am tolerating it better the second time around but as soon as that tolerating stops then I stop.

Even initially with the Fluconazole, I had to stop after 5 days take a week off and then restart and build up the dose. This is not the correct way to take this medication as most docs prescribe an initial loading dose which is higher but I have had success taking it slow.

I will update when I stop the Itraconazole to let you know if the paresthesia is over. If not then it must be the Bart.

Also please note that agressive abx treatment leaves you wide open for fungal infection. Abx are made from fungals.
