does gluten cause headaches?

I ate a cinnamon roll this morning...I KNOW, bad, bad, bad especially since my test(2012)revealed gluten intolerant. But, ive been off gluten for like, FOREVER. HOW can just 1 cinnamon roll hurt? I wanted it so bad, and now Ive got a throbbing headache-all over. My throat is slighlty scratchy, and I had some nasal drip.

Does anyone else ever just treat themselves to something you so badly wanted? but only regretted it because the 10minutes of eating the cinnamon roll isnt worth hours of pain

This may sound strange, but you are fortunate to have a reaction if you do have intolerance.

My son has Celiac but doesn't have an immediate reaction...so if he eats something that is contaminated...he doesn't know....which isn't good.

No, gluten does not cause headaches. Your immune response to gluten may cause a headache, but the gluten itself does not. The borrelia bacteria often does not cause problems for humans but when we have an immune response to borrelia, it can get pretty bad. That is why this forum exists. Our immune response is the actual problem.

idk if i was ok with them feeding and replicating all those years ,but when a short course of bactrim broke all hell loose ...

sugar may be the headache culprit...i use stevia lots to quell cravi gs thanks dr sapi

I think the sugar gave you the headache.

I never ate a lot of sugar even before lyme. Since Lyme I have had none for seven months, except a teeny-tiny bite of Christmas cake.

Three weeks ago I had some gelato - no corn syrup of fake stuff. Organic, artisinal gelato and I was so sick. Worst headache I have had in a long time. No more sugar for me.
