Welcome to our forum, our Lyme group. I keep thinking people end up being unknowingly directed here when they are ready to accept the facts of Lyme, and they're running out of other options.

So, I'm really glad you found us. We urge all new members to look at our intro topic "New to Lyme?.....start here"

You may have already read some or all of it, but there is an excellent section on de-toxing to help the body move toxins from bacterial/etc, die-off. It can become overloaded and stagnate inside of us, or just keep circulating.

You've gone through quite a bit. There ARE herbs you can take to support your liver, and other organs, and info on probiotics to help offset the good bacteria that are wiped out with antibiotics. There is also info on dealing with Yeast overgrowth/Candida, that often ends up an issue and a block to getting well.

Incidentally, when I first got sick, and not knowing why, I practically lived either at my GP's office or the e.r., depending on what time it was. That was in '84. In '85 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia/CFS. I continued under that diagnosis for years. I never got direct Lyme treatment.

Anyway, after finally getting tested and being told it was a false positive, Drs. continued to insist I had severe Fibro, until 2015 I was called by the health dept. to tell me I was pos. for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I ended up here on this forum, and learned I indeed DID have Lyme, and at least 3 co-infections all these years.

My antibiotic treatment in 2015 was insufficient (of course), so am using herbs, mostly tinctures on my own with the help of these good people here and Stephen Buhner's book Healing Lyme second edition.


I have a long road ahead of me, but I know for sure I made no mistake coming to this forum, this board.

I am sure we can help you, and at least give you the support and encouragement you need to push on.

And actually I do have the name of an LLMD in Anchorage, if you want to email me, I send you the name and address. Hopefully it's still an active practice.

Welcome ak sw...i found telief in mmj for years ..one of my colorado buddies uses it as sole treatment ...i thunk it is why i am not in horible shape ...there is a vali foenia company that will ship bee for bee venom therapy ..if you wanna stick with herbal i suggest andrographis ,houttynia ,sida acuta ,and cryptolepsis. Read stephen buhners website ... afew member here also realize there arthritis or fibro was really lyme all along ...you can also order antibiotics online and self treat if thats the way you wanna go ...kratom is also a good pain reliever and gives energy ...you can also see the offending pathogens with simple microscopy...if we can answer any questions feel free..you are not alone

Welcome to our community! I'm so glad you officially joined us!

Your story is a lot like mine when I first started Lyme treatments - I too didn't realize that I was herxing or what to do about it, and I ended up very, very ill - completely bed ridden and unable to leave the house due to seizures, blacking out, muscle fasciculations so severe that I couldn't sit on any chair, couch or lay on anything without "bouncing" off, and more.

But, I do have a listing for an ILADS trained LLMD in Anchorage! If you will send me an email, I will be happy to send that information to you.

Otherwise, you can also look into herbal treatment for your infection(s) - many of us here use herbal medicine either alone or with abx to treat these infections. I would encourage you to look into it - we can help if you are interested.

We can most definitely "collect" different infections with multiple bites. Each of the infections we deal with has many different strains, and depending on what the insects/people you have contact with have, a person could easily end up with many different strains.

It's not like the herbs that we need grow anywhere, but to find local sources is always the best in my opinion as well.

Have you looked into Buhner's protocols? I would imagine it's something you might really appreciate.

The herbal combination that I used for treating my Lyme infections used wormwood, as well as many other herbs.

Nettle is a very good herb for many things!

The Stillpoint project is in Vancouver, BC...which is a very long way to travel. The MD there does a version of the Marshall Protocol (reducing vitamin d levels with a medication, and no sun allowed) - which I have not seen many successes. I did read of one...and then a year or so later, the patient said she had relapsed.

Sage Clinic - in Vancouver and Victoria - again a very long way to travel. I don't know of any experienced LLND's at either of those clinics. There was one in Victoria, but she has moved her practice to the Okanagan.

If you are interested in traveling that far to southern BC, I can provide you with names in the Vancouver area of experienced LLND's....

You might want to purchase Buhner's book(s) and order herbs online using his protocols. If you can't get to a LLMD, that might be something to consider.

There's a lot of knowledge here - we can help you navigate treatment - using herbals.

You can get the Igenex Lyme WB Igm and IgG for a total of $210.

Call them, and they will send you a lab kit.

When is the best time to take the Igenix test? During a flare up? I know the beasties hide when in dormant phases.

Honestly, I don't know...about the flaring. I flared every day...
How often are you flaring?

The important thing is that you send it off in the beginning of the week - via Fedex. So, do the blood test on Monday, and send it. So, if you flare on the Monday....that would be a good time!
You want it to get to Igenex before the week-end - as they are closed...and it will end up sitting there on Sat and Sunday...
