Actually this one has been around for quite awhile. It's a variation of low fodmap, GAPS, and Paleo. Though it really is moreso in-line with the low fodmap diet. You can eat more on SCD than Paleo. Hm,......... just read parts of the legal /illegal food list for specific carbohydrate diet. The purpose is the same as the Whole30 version of Paleo, which is to end food causing gut permeability (leaky gut), but the "legal /illegal food list" is a little different in both, weird. Whole30 does not permit and dairy products SCD does. Some veggies which are really tubulars are allowed in Whole30/Paleo, but not SCD.
It makes no sense that SCD allows some dairy, since its a known gut offender to many people. No dairy products, I have adhered to 100%. My gut feels great, only time will tell if that means better total health.
I'm going to try the Whole30 past 30 days. Why only do it 30 days, wont see much relief in that sort time if one had gut issues their whole life.. I've adhered to it realistically to about
95-99%. Part of that is technical learning ingredients for store products- mistakes unknown till later.
