Hi all,
Have a question that I hope someone may have some knowledge of.
I am a type 1 diabetic. Through the whole lyme thing before I got diagnosed (8) years I of course have had high blood sugars, just like any diabetic. But not chronically high. Just the highs and lows that come with type 1 diabetes and the frustrations of daily living that cause fluctuations with blood sugar. But I have all that covered. I have been doing the diabetes thing so long that I know what to expect and how to treat.
Except, the past two weeks, I have had chronically high blood sugar. I have never had this happen to me before where I can't get control. I take my insulin, it comes down, but not to great good numbers, just down enough to see the insulin working. Then, boom, it shoots right back up again. Usually, this means infection, old insulin, or the site where I have my insulin pump goes in needs to be moved. I have changed my insulin to a fresh bottle, and changed my site for my insulin pump many times, and even given myself insulin shots to bypass my insulin pump just to make sure I am getting the insulin in. I have even increased the amount of insulin I take, nothing is working. Those things are all standard protocol for unexpected high blood sugars that are resistant. Any other time I have done just one of these things all goes back to normal blood sugars.
I know if I call my endocrinologist they will say maybe an infection or to move my insulin site, which I have done. I don't want to involve my endocrinologist in yet another battle of lyme which she is not schooled in if I can avoid it.
I do have pain in my nose and sinus around my nose. I had an incident at the ent a few months back where he sprayed inside my nose and burned me with the medication, then he jammed the scope up my nose and caused severe pain that I recoiled and cried out but he continued and caused more pain. I have been dealing with this pain for months now. I had a bloody nose yesterday and looked inside my nose and there is a 1/4 inch bleeding sore in there exactly where I felt the pain when he burned my nose. So I don't know if that is what the problem is with my blood sugar.
Also, sorry to gross anyone out, but I did get a yeast beast at the start of this too. You know, down in the nether yeah ya. No discharge or anything just burning. I am taking a ton of probiotics and drink kefir everyday.
I am taking 4 antibiotics on a pulsed schedule so I can't imagine it is an infection on top of the lyme doing this, but maybe one of you would think otherwise.
Also, I have been detoxing quite well and this all started on the holiday week from antibiotics. Then I went back on the meds and I continued to have high blood sugar.
Also, a few days ago I started this shaking in my body. It gets worse everyday. Today, I am having a hard time with my arm and hand and overall body trembling. My leg is trembling at rest. Very strange. I woke up completely drenched in sweat today right through my clothes. No fever though. Temp is 97.8.
I do feel a little gross today, but for the most part I have had more energy the past month and have been feeling like maybe I can finally see I may get better, except I now am dealing with the blood sugar stuff.
Any suggestions on what it could be? I know only a handful of you may even have or know about type 1 diabetes, but any suggestions I welcome.
Thank you everyone!
