I have homozygous MTHFR. I find that the sublingual Methyl-B 5000mg from Jarrow to be a good "booster". My doctor also has me on a methyl-b12/b6/folinic acid shots that I give myself (2cc every 3 days). The reason for the smaller dose is to control the methylation cycle because if you take too much B12/Folate, it can release too many toxins for your body to handle. The body down regulates methylation during these infections so we won't be overwhelmed by toxins.
I would look at MTHFR.net. They have a lot of information. The first tip I got is when you wake up, drink a 8oz of electrolyte water. That is very important before you start taking methylation supplements.
The good thing about the Jarrow sublingual is you can break it into smaller pieces and do a tiny bit at a time if you find yourself not feeling well.
Believe it or not, over-methylation symptoms are a lot like Neuro Lyme, tingling, vibrating, etc.
