It's not all about LDL...But LP(a)

I thought I would post this article as this is not on the minds of many doctors and is very important especially for those dealing with illness and inflammatory conditions. I guess my other question is though they say this is based on DNA, I am wondering whether some of these conditions like lyme create this. I did find another article that stated that hypothyroidism can also lpa to skyrocket.

I have never had a good answer for my elevated cholesterol levels, because it's all of my cholesterol levels that are elevated, even the good cholesterol. My last doc told me that if you look not at the numbers, but at the ratios, then my levels are actually really good - simply because my good cholesterol is so high as well.

I've not tried to investigate this (as if I didn't have my hands full enough as it is!!), so I don't know much about it, but always thought it was a bit odd. I've had lots of doctors try to put me on cholesterol lowering drugs, and I've always refused, knowing that I had infections they refused to recognize and none of us had any idea what impact those infections may have on cholesterol levels - and I told them that I'd be lucky if I lived long enough so that was what killed me. LOL.
