I have two questions:
1) How long would it take for azithromycyn to knock out the babesia (if that is what I have) and does babesia induce a lyme like herx. (What is your experience with treating babesia, were your symptoms similar to mine?
2) Has anyone else seemingly been stuck in this pattern of feeling pretty well for a few weeks and then slowly, or rapidly, falling back into feeling all of these symptoms again. It's crazy because i'm a 27 year old male and when I'm feeling fine im snowboarding and going out with my girlfriend etc. and then a few days later, for no good reason, im sleeping every chance I get and have zero motivation.
Thanks for the help guys!
Lyme is a name given to label vector borne infections that is headed by the borrelia bacteria as well as "coinfections". So to say a "lyme herx" means any of these bacteria. All of these vector borne infections (bacteria) has the potential to give you a herx as the body fights these pathogens.
Herx is inflammation. Herx is not just exclusive to lyme. Herxing is known as a "healing crises". It's inflammation your body goes through as it heals. So yes babesia or any pathogen can cause a healing crises or herx. Lyme just takes herxing to another level which is why the term is most associated with lyme.
A pattern is not uncommon. Having herxing patterns has a lot to do with your own bodily patterns. It has a lot to do with your treatment patterns. These patterns make it seems there's a pattern to the actual herxing.
