LLMD near Baltimore

For information on finding a​n ILADS ​(International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society)​ trained​ Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, youcan send me an email by clicking on my screen name or the small blue envelope under my screen name. You can start a new thread titled something like "Looking for LLMD in the ​​
(insert the nearest larger city & state) area". Members can email you about the LLMD's that they see in that area if you have your email enabled. We don't allow doctors names to be posted though.

You will want to find an ILADS trained doctor, as ID Docs (Infectious Disease Doctors) believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme. Not sure about how far it is from Baltimore, but my Dr. is in Mclean VA and she takes BlueCross BlueShield Insurance (HMO only). If you want the info email me.

I wouldn't mind knowing some either! I drive 2 hours to see mine in VA. Its not that bad, but Baltimore is a 2 hour drive for me as well, so if someone knows others that take insurance I would like to know

There is also Dr. J in MD, outside DC which is pretty close to Baltimore, plus Dr. J in DC. Appointments are several months apart after the initial 2 appointments so it's not too bad.

Thanks for pointing that out Krimpet. Aw, yes, the elusive search for those who take insurance. Initially we too looked for one that takes insurance and couldn't find anyone. It is just too risky for them or they believe that a short course of abx will take care of it.

Insurance has covered our antibiotics (oral) and medically necessary things like cardiology but I have found that even going to the eye doctor means we pay out of pocket if we need to see a Lyme literate one. We kept being told that DS's eyes were fine and he was faking it but finally I read about an LL opthamologist who of course didn't take insurance and he has been helping with the eye issues so common to tick diseases.

I do have a list of drs mainly in No VA I can share but you'd have to call and see if they accept insurance. Let me know if you want it, Diego.
