I just got my ELISA IgM IgG test results (5 weeks post bite)

IgM: 0.2 U/ml
IgG: 0.4 U/ml

Bio. Ref. Interval is <0.9

Result interpretation on the report states:
<0.9: negative
0.9-1.1: equivocal
>1.1: positive

I have been on doxy since one week after the bite.

Views? Please help! smile

Tests are just tests and not completely reliable.

Lyme is a clinical diagnosis and your symptoms are more of a "tell" of lyme than your test results.

Someone will come along and explain it better and more lengthy.

Did you have a bull's eye rash? Take this test and see your score.

Hi welcome to our forum. I'm glad you joined but sorry if you have Lyme.
All new members are encouraged to go to the top of the posts and look at "New to Lyme". There is very important information about detoxing, testing, diet and other things that will help you in your battle against this disease.

I cant help much with the testing stuff but others are very knowledgeable about it and will be along to answer.

if you don't hear from more members it's ok to re post they might have missed it the first time.

Were you tested while you were taking the Doxy? Most people have to be off abx treatments for the tests to be able to pick up enough antibodies that are required for a positive test. But even if you were taking Doxy when your blood was drawn for the test - you are borderline, and if you have symptoms of Lyme, then that should be enough to get a diagnosis - if the doctor knows what they are doing.

From what I understand, it is possible to fail your tests in the first 8 weeks of infection because antibodies aren't fully developed yet. Around half the diagnosis are made without a positive test. If you have been taking doxycycline, I'm sure that distorts the test. Talk to your doctor for result interpretation.

The Elisa isn't a good test..you should be getting the Western Blot.

My IFA (similar to Elisa) was negative...I went to Igenex for the Western Blot and was IgM positive.
