My friend wants to take me out tomorrow for St. Patricks day in NY. But my doctor just put me on tinidazole/tindamax Monday and has started me on 250mg once a day this week then ramp up slowly to three a day in the next 2 weeks. I asked him if I could drink while on this or if on Friday I should perhaps skip the dose or take it super early. He made a weird face (like I really shouldn't) and said "well, currently they've been saying drinking on tinidazole is not too bad but no you're not supposed to be. I would test yourself by taking a little before Friday and seeing how you do. If it's bad, then no".
Well, to make long story short i didn't feel like testing myself first and was just going to go out St. Patricks day and take my medicine very early in the morning. But then I started looking things up online and literally everything says don't drink any alcohol while on this medication and if you are going to drink alcohol stop taking tini 3 days before, which I obviously can't. Even the bottle and prescription label has multiple warnings on mixing alcohol with tinidazole saying it could cause upset stomach, heart palpitations, etc.
So, has anyone drunk alcohol while taking tinidazole? What was reaction to it, if any?
