Not sure if anyone is familiar with these, but my LLMD just prescribed me AdreneVive from Orthomolecular brand. She wants me to take 2 pills a day. The cost of this is $50 for 60 tablets.. so $50 a month. I looked at Adren-all which is somewhat similar, but it is $70 for 120 tablets. Does anyone know the real difference and if I should just stick with the one she suggested? Thanks.

EDIT: I am not trying to complain about price, but as you all probably know, the cost of supplements just keeps adding up. She just added 3 more on this last visit, two of which are $50 each.

So apparently Adrenevive (the one she wanted me to get) has Siberian Ginseng, Rhodiola and Ashwagandha in it and is for acute stress. Adren-all has schizandra, rhodiola, ginsing, and licorice root for overall stress support.

I just am not sure if it makes that much of a difference?

Ashwagandha is good for stress -

I see the Adrenevive also has L-Theanine. It may be good for sleeping.


The Adren-all has bovine Adrenal concentrate in it.

Can you ask your doctor to explain the difference? They may want you on one for a specific reason.

I have significant adrenal issues myself, and I use ashwagandha along with other adrenal meds - and I wouldn't have had much healing without the ashwagandha, personally.

Yeah Ill ask. Thanks for the responses. She said something like alot of lyme patients have adrenal issues and there is a test for $99 she could do just to see, but since most the time they have it, she was going to skip the test and just treat it, which is why she put me on that. They sound so similar.

Well, that's not a good response from a doctor!! Not everyone with Lyme has adrenal issues and by supporting them when they don't need support, it can really mess things up.

If you can afford the test, AND it's a 4 point saliva test or a 24 hour urine collection, then I would encourage you to get it done. Blood tests for adrenals are not good, as they only give a 'snapshot in time' kind of result. You only see what your adrenals are doing at that moment the blood is drawn - not how they are functioning through out the day - which is what is needed to determine if they are truly being affected or not.

Not sure I would want the Bovine Adrenal if I didn't have adrenal issues.

Oh really? I thought it sounded alright. My boyfriend and I were both there and talked about it and thought it was reasonable.

I have zero knowledge about adrenals and dont really know what she wants me to take it for. I guess I do have stress issues, but Idk.

It says the samples are collected 4 times through the day...so yes it is a good test.

Im suppose to start Adren-all today. 7am cortisol was 4.4. Was hoping my cortisol issues were behind me. Hoping I don't have issues with the Adren-all.
