Just mine own personal experience:
In June 2014, when I was 1st diagnosed w/Lyme and Co's, I was seeing an LLND, who's main focus is restoring the bodies own natural ability to fight infection.
That involves chelating out any toxins because heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and even aluminum provide energy for the parasitic bacterium such as borrellia, chlamydophilia, as well as mycoplasmas.
With that said; I did I.V. chelation once weekly for 8 weeks while ALSO going after the 'bugs' with herbal tinctures, AND going after the mycpolasma using NAC-the result was pain, more pain, and extreme fatigue. I found out the hard way by experiencing herxing for the 1st time ever, and its due to my bodies lack of the genes needed to detox.
.... it depends on each persons own ability to methylate aka detox...if you're lacking the proper 'genes' for efficient methylation then chelating the heavy metals AND killing off bugs will be too much at one time!!!
I wish that my LLND had been equally focused on detoxing when she aggressively treated me, and she shouldve tested me for the methylation ability first before doing multiple things at once.
I hope Ive been of SOME help- good luck!!!
