Sorry, I've been a bit MIA but life has been busy and I feel like we are all getting better.
As for me, I have long stretches where I start to feel back to normal again. I still have some days where I'm more tired. My symptoms seemed to have changed - the achy fingers and joints seem to have faded away and now my symptoms are mostly headache, necktie and buzzing/tingling sensation. Moving onto the Babesia protocol with Dr. J.
The best news is that my kids seem to be doing much better as well. Probably my most troubling child issue was my 5 year old who developed sudden onset of severe anxiety of choking, dying and was even scared to swallow her own saliva so she was constantly drooling and spitting. She'd ask me many times a day if her heart was still beating. I think somewhere after the 1 month mark of antibiotics, I noticed that it had been a few days since she asked me her questions about
death. I was cautiously hopeful and it's probably been another month now and she now longer has this anxiety. One day when I was giving her her medicines, she asked me how much longer she'd have to take the medicine and I said the medicine was helping her get all better. She told me, I am all better. I said, how do you know? She said, I can just feel it. I'm not afraid anymore.
I don't know if my lyme obsession has influenced them but even my older daughter who would tell me, "Mooommm, it's not lyme but I had a headache today," told me that the medicine is really helping because her headaches and stomach aches are like weekly now as opposed to daily.
I notice my 3 year seems less angry and is more like my sweet gentle boy from before this whole nightmare.
I feel incredibly lucky to have pinpointed the cause of many of the nonspecific and psychiatric symptoms. My 5 year old really suffered and so did I watching her...To think that if I had not been totally paranoid about
lyme and co-infections she would just been written off as an anxious child and sent to therapists and psychiatrists without dealing with the bacterial part of the problem. I have no problem with therapy and psychiatry but it's just a bandaid if there is a physiological reason for the symptoms.
I finally got my husband to Dr. J in DC as well. He has been my most reluctant lyme patient and for a long time insisted that any lyme symptoms were totally innocent. He seems to have been affected mostly with stomach aches and headaches. He's being pretty compliant with the protocol, but he stills complains or worries if his symptoms mean something else like he's having a heart attack or something.

lymebug so good to hear from you.
Your poor 5 year old. Just about
the time that kids learn about
death and to have anxiety lyme on top of that? I feel for the kids that have lyme.
I am so glad to hear of some improvements in your family. I can't imagine treating a whole house full.
Your strength is amazing!
